The trick would be to get their 73N rates as our 73N rates and for the bigger stuff to go up from there.

Just for giggles.
We pay 168 per flt hr
They pay 206 per flt hr

A 38 dollar an hr difference.

That would be about a 23% jump in this years rates.

That would pay a 777A or a 744A 257 per flt hr if that was your goal.

Why put the seats in if you'd just have to drag them all back out?

Something to think about.

fly

and yes johnso is correct. He's back on the bus due to increased NB flying. Praise the lord. I was right above him and was/am still FLYING EVERY FRIGGIN DAY.
i agree with you and i too believe we are moving in the right direction, ala increased mainline flying and decreased regional flying. With that said, your question on pulling seats out, well they actually wouldnt have to do a thing in this case. The furlough protection was to reduce the number of 76 seaters to 70 seaters and i believe the planes being converted are that of the CRJ700's that arent configured for 76 seats. They plan on putting first class in the 70 seaters thus lowering the number of overall seats. At least thats how i read it.

btw, I'm coming back to the bus in march to help relieve some of the pain The increase in narrowbody flying allowed those of us upgrading within the narrowbody aircraft to get back in. I'm stoked that the recall rights stuck long enough to get back in because i was nervous that they'd run out under the Delta system.\

edit- ACL beat me to it

Carl;
What Bar is doing is comparing the Form 41 trend lines that are reported to the DOT. The man has years of data.

The point you quoted was to clarify that his statements were made toward the corporation and not its pilots. (Business not personal)

Tell me how much you like the bus when they are working you every day. We are already short on the 73N in ATL and it is just getting uglier day by day.

The aircraft that are having first class added are currently 70 seat jets. Their capacity will be reduced. A furlough only changes the number of permitted 76 seat aircraft (26 removed from service with a furlough, all 153 if they furlough past 9/01/01). No change would be required to the CRJ-700 fleet.

Bar likes us, but not what we brought to the dance. But, IF the JAL thing goes down like many think, he will have to like what we brought, too. No way would DAL, who got into SkyTeam by invitation, ever get the JAL codeshare without NWA as a merger partner.

Management has played this game in their head long before any of the new hires were even on property. He likes us a pilots now. But, he will like us as a company in a year or two.

acl,

I really don't know the answer to this question, but how much debt did NWA have before the merger? And how much did DAL have?

I'm not tring to start a food fight. I just want to know if we really sucked that bad.

Do you know what config they are going to on the 700s? 4 and 64 or so?
