Any post that has the word "nymphomaniac" in it is not spreading doom....

ACL - at Dow 5,500 I'm going to be growing crops on a farm in North Georgia and hiring Carl to shoot carpetbaggers. Lets hope it does not come to that. Although in all reality, I have bought land which has two fresh water supplies which can't be tampered with, an irrigation system and fences. It does not need an external power source. The only problem would be defending it.

You win the Spank Literary Excellence Award.
If you subscribe to the slight correction, then higher highs followed by the crash, 5500 may be a real possibility. If that happened it would be two to three years. My best guess would be a correction to 8000ish

One aspect of this displacement was getting people in position to furlough and we must admit, the timing of displacements, training, seasonal flying adjustments and DC9 retirements are uncanny.

J MHO.
Bar,

I wasn't displaced. I was reinstated to a higher paying airplane, and so was Super. And so were many other DAL pilots. I'm rolling my dice on no furloughs. If they haven't done it yet, I can't see why they'd do it this fall. With the JAL thing most likely happening(& JAL being the one that shrinking), combined with the Global economy improving, I can't see your reasoning for thinking so.

I guess if you continually expect disappointment then you're never really disappointed. BTW, I thought you said you were retiring from the boards until you had something good to report? From your posts I've read since then, it doesn't appear your holding up to your promise.

Nah, it was a bit toolish, even by my standards.

Besides, Bar, I consider you to one of the good guys. I need to save my dry power for the "what can we give up to management today?" wannabees...

We're having an MEC burger with the secret sauce this week. Have you checked whats left in your wallet?

F-NWA pilots are being reinstated as a result of pull & plug and super seniority. You got your retirements up front, enjoy. F-DAL are falling faster than crap off a Camel. Ain't your fault and no hard feelings.

This week the DOW broke hard off its ten month trend line and everything is headed lower, oil, metals and currency. There is no place to hide. Those are the numbers, not the happy talk in the news about US productivity which was just a blip to build inventories.

When you look at the economy, you can't read the news. Look at the numbers... and I just posted because I had to share my awesome manstash with you. If ever I might decide to run for ALPA office, I need to get the mustache credentials out there.
