And as unbelievable as it may be, they(TSA) will be informed of it before we will. I heard a TSA agent talking a few months ago about DAL bringing some larger aircraft into STL. I thought why would he know? Guess what, we are now bringing the 320 into STL again.

Makes sense. The Tub Stacking Association needs to know if they need more tubs.

The customer is driving these type of decisions. It makes us seem cheep but in reality people shop the first page of these on-line ticket companies. To make a profit and stay there we need to charge for everything.

I am glad that someone too the advice to charge extra to decide to check bags at the airport versus when you check in on line. That is good business.
Last night I saw a guy buy two drinks for 20 bucks a pop. (did not care that each shot in the drink was five bucks) He could have cared less. Point is passengers complain about the bag fees but they pay them and they return. That prove the point that that fee does not change their purchasing patterns.
What was it when Jetblue started flying JFK-Florida for $75 but the cab ride to JFK was $100?

There is no way to market this because of internet based pricing competition but in reality your ticket is $600 RT but we'll give you a $40 discount if you don't check a bag.

no more cat fights, we want rumors.....

Are we really bidding on 20 gates in DFW? Did a great former Dallas employee (its a lady) come back to Delta? Does her name start with K or C? They both make the same sound sometimes. Lucky me, I have a three hour break in ATL on monday....free food and a management speech in the ATL pilot lounge.

I think we need to start plugging away at these agents as we walk through...

ACL: Great news, I heard from 2 good sources we're going to do XYZ
1st Responder: Yeah, but is that for real?
2nd Responder: No way, no way we're going to do that, thats ridiculous.
3rd Responder: I asked the TSA agent today, he said we're doing XYZ, ACL was right.
2nd Responder: Well if TSA says so I guess its true...
ACL: **** right.

Internet is free man, a live feed would be great. Make sure you sit in the back though. Don't give yourself away. And make sure you stand up and say "hey, that mumbler in the front that asked you that question, can you repeat the question and your name sir, please? Thanks."

Super and ACL, you are right that the bag fees don't hit the heavy metals. Mi Amigos have access to their corporate jets which kills their yearly mileage stats on Delta, but still they are last minute travelers who pay whatever it costs when their request for the corporate aircraft isn't approved.

One got so PO'd at change fees at NWA he had magnetic lemon signs made up with a snappy logo. He drove around town with them on his Lexus (much to his wife's humiliation) and forbid any of American International Group's employees to travel on NWA, which as far I as know stood as policy until his retirement.

Rational ... NO Stupid ... YES ... but I'm telling you these last minute fees hidden in the very small disclaimers as revenue after the sale really make people angry. Even folks who earn $250K plus a year. Amending a corporate travel expense authorization is a PITA and since a lot of these are audited by some flunky in another Dept they are denied and that makes people mad.

I'm sure we have some sort of unrestricted, no hassle, ticket that only government workers buy. We should promote those to our less frequent business travelers IMHO.

Now we just need them to add in that if the flight you have listed for the jumpseat on cancels or takes a long delay for some reason then you can get positive spaced on the next one. Add that and computer booking, and you'll have a commuter policy I can live with.
