Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Hey Nu,
They need to pay ppl to keep you in control!

Maybe you'd like to talk to a long-sleeved type that thought that it should all be seniority based, and booked or no booked, he could stroll up with his golf clubs at the last minute and bump someone off.
Nu
There are a few airlines where the JS is seniority based, and yes a senior guy can bump a junior guy off of it up to certain point. I forget what the cutoff time is.

If we're going to make jumpseat priority by seniority, can we wait 15-20 years?

One other thing about Southwest's model is that they are not jumping on the bag fee bandwagon. Customers realize Southwest is $50 cheaper than whatever fare they find online for competing service. Throw in other convenience fees and my business traveler friends (same friends than used to pay $1,200 for last minute tickets on DAL) now complain LOUDLY to their Corporate Travel Departments if they are not booked on Southwest.
I argue with them that Delta is a better product and of course our network is World's better. But, for them it is the hassle factor and fees that they see as inconvenient and frankly, dishonest, sources of revenue.
I do not agree with them, just reporting how they see it. In the process of chasing $100 extra from Mom, Dad and the kids, we've alienated a lot of people who plunk down $1,000+ without batting an eye. .. and of course it is not just us.
As ACL65 said, it would be nice to flip the switch on Travelocity and Orbitz, but we have such a massive amount of product to sell that we likely need those intermediaries.

lets get back to juicy rumors and taking over the world talk
No, clearly "a set" had nothing to do with it. It was a management policy that benefited management, and coincidentally benefited pilots. It could, however, be rescinded at any time by the same management that granted it to you.
Personally, I'd like to see a similar policy or contractual option at the New Delta. But "grow a set", gmafb.

I agree Slow that the NWA "policy" should become a contractual item in our new PWA or arrive as a mid-term improvement. I agree that it "could" be rescinded if it is a policy and not a contractual provision.
Question though. These jumpseat booking windows and psy for a bump from a class one or two jumpseater are still policy and not contractual, correct? Also did they make the change of making the js not part of payload optimization part of the contract or is that a policy?
If so we should make them contractual or they could be changed as well.. If I am wrong, then point me where the changes are in the contract.
I know, it is the call in honest program that is contractual but how about the details?

I believe we also gained 100% DH pay back as well 150% over 80 hours. That was contractual. I know there has been a ton of complaining by us Northerners lately(some a little out of line IMO), but we've been given a TON of changes here & it's pretty overwhelming. It's like being a newhire, or in my case never having that feeling go away.
It's frustrating because we've seen so many good things go away, but we have also gained some good things too. For instance, ths whole 1 place, right place concept is faaaaar from that. We used to have a CAT II briefing card. Everything related to/required for shooting a CAT II approach was on that single page. I didn't have to flip back & forth through 3 different pages my Vol 1 to brief a CAT II. Just one of many frustrating changes that we deal with.
Anyway, I've gotten off track here. I guess my point is a lot of us North guys are just adjusting, & some of us will gripe along the way. Anyway, I plan on writing my reps on what I'd like changed & hopefully we will see some changes.
