Welcome to Delta! Sure is nice to see all the enthusiasm again!
do you think it would be much the same today under the current contract? I'm mostly interested in knowing what the QOL would be like for a commuting reserve line holder? is it possible to group your days on and off more together so you don't find yourself doing a 4 on 2 off, 5 on 3 off sort of thing?

thanks

With the number of airplanes coming in 2008, it would seem like they would have to continue hiring in 08. Anyone got gouge?

I'll be there. I'm returning from Furlough/MilLeave. It's been almost 6 years. See you there.

Hey whitt767,

welcome back from furlough! I'm a 10 JUL 2000 hire, 2 1/2 years on the street, furloughed June 2002. Things are looking better, moral is picking up with all the employees. Everyone is getting along well.... I think we're short staffed this summer and probably pushed to the limit, but everyone is pulling together to make it happen.

I'd like to have a better picture of our fleet plan and more solid idea of what's in store for the future. A lot of rumors are floating around, but I don't think we'll hear anything definitive until we get the new CEO. I hope it's Whitehurst, seems to have management style and philosophy of Herb Keller.

Again, welcome back and welcome to all the new-hires! I look forward to seeing you one the line.

Respectfully,

Tomcat

An insider in the training department told me 500 more in '08 as of last week.

Thanks for the words, TomKat. I'm really looking forward to it. When I called the HQ to tell them I was returning, they were extremely nice and excited that I was coming back. That was refreshing! Reminds me of when I was hired. Hopefully they will hire 500ish in '08. Good time to get hired here. Unfortunately, my old uniform does not fit! I never got to wear the coat. Anybody need a 41 Reg coat and matching pants? Seriously. Never been used. I'll see y'all in class.
