Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Plus,
Is it even legal to make them go away? I think by the time you got all the lawyers saddled up to ride and found a hang'en judge, that things would be done anyway.
We all paid good money for that fence, just paint it. The new highway comes through in a few years and it will come down then.

Imagine that, 15 clicks to update recency not to mention the time to go get on a computer. It could be as simple as one button push on the acars as it used to be. Are there no avenues to improve things like this or is it just a dead end???
If Jal does come to SkyTeam and they do decide (as has been reported) to park their 747 fleet, it seems many here think DAL would attempt to acquire some, or all, of those airframes.
However if 37, or even ten, 747's showed up we would not be able to operate them (with DAL pilots) until bids had been posted and pilots trained and converted. That would take some time and DAL management wouldn't be very happy to have those planes (and routes) dormant.
I would think DAL management would want to have some JAL 747 pilots along with the airframes so they could be operated from the get-go. Perhaps they could be only temporary employees, but if not, the domino effect on pilot training at DAL would be huge (or Hudge for Ferd!).
Curious as to others thoughts on this possibility....

However... I want to make a thread resolution:
WHEREAS there has been no deal struck concerning a JAL-DAL tieup,
and
WHEREAS even if there is a deal announced, it will be months before we will know the full ramifications of said tie up,
and
WHEREAS the news media nowadays is more concerned with getting the scoop first, even if it is wrong...
BE IT RESOLVED that no one that posts on this board cut and paste any articles concerning said JAL-DAL tieup until it is realy official news. i.e. No more Afghanistan morning post or Des Moines Sentinal articles until there is actually some news and/or information.
Please.
I'm all for improving things like being able to update landing currency by ACARS. I do think it will be coming in the future. The focus of the company has been on SOC and I think IT, among other things, has taken a big hit. Now that we are post-SOC, lets hope some of these issues will make it to the front burner and be integrated in the near (year or two) future.
Well I can dream can't I?!
