November and December in NWA RSV SYS

I live in base:

Nov One 2 day and One Out and back, none over holidays
Dec One 3 day and One Out and back, None over holidays

Delta System -5 hrs

Jan One 3 day, one Out and back, and One 5 day, plus 4 days of Vaction.

I will take the NWA way, however, there is no changing it so I am a happy camper nonetheless. FWIW I was not called for 82 days in a row this summer. So, don't knock it unless you have seen it.

Well i was senior on the reserve list (when i wasnt holding a line) therefore was on longcall the majority of the time. Also under the NWA system you could get released alot earlier than 2 hours prior to the end of your call out time. I'd often get released by noon under the NWA system also which was nice if i had to sit SC. I'm just sayin.....

There are plus's and minus's to both systems but i dont expect you to understand that because you cant compare the 2. Some of you guys act like the DAL way is the perfect system and nothing else could be better. Is having a cap on SC days nice? You bet, but it was also nice to be able to get released halfway through your SC period if the operation was running fine (good wx, other reserves, etc). there's always room for improvement and hopefully we can recognize that come contract talk time.

How dare you admit publicly that the NWA system had its plus's!

Heyas Super,

Problem is that you have guys at DAL just like we had guys at NWA, that have their head in the sand, and won't consider ANY alternatives.

Then there are the nancy boys who quiver at the sound of management's voice and then proclaim "we can get anything unless we give something up", even the items that we should have as a cost of doing business.

Between these two groups, I weep for 2012....

You can print them out when you check the weather at check-in. I haven't plotted one on paper since I was on the DC-9. Put the lat/longs in RTE 2 on the boeings and the SEC F-PLN on the bus. It provides great SA for areas of turbulence.

New DAL Guy (probably former RJ guy): "I want scope scope scope spam spam spam eggs bacon spam spam beans and spam scope scope..."

Old DAL Guy: "SHUT UP ABOUT YOUR **** SCOPE! Nobody wants to hear it because it means nothing to me..."

New DAL Guy: "Wow, Air France 747, whats it doing here? I thought we flew there? Oh look, KLM? Is that China Southern? What are they doing here.... whats this about a new AE with surpluses? FedEx package? Why do I have a FedEx package for me at home?"

You know Nu you're right, if we could divide pilots by political affiliation it'd be interesting to see who were the tough guys, rough necks, where's the money crowd, nancies, union lovers, scopers, koolaid drinkers, etc. But I wonder if on this next contract, and I'm throwing this out for discussion purpose, is to concentrate on how to handle something we don't negotiate... JVs.

Its as important as pay and work rules but at the same time we have no, or mostly none that I know of, say in it because everything is seemingly on the table during a JV negotiation. What if management team 2014 negotiates one where we give away our 748s and 773s?

Pay & Scope (JV & RJ), because it effects all of us. Maybe we should have something mildly absurd that says if we ever give away 10% of our WB flying then 100% of the 50-seat fleet is parked and Delta pilots fly all 51+ seat aircraft at a rate no lower than the DC-9 pay rate and anyone furloughed is given 2 years of pay... upfront.
