Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
MC (Jan 12, 2010 10:35:12 AM)
Briefly, what is the plan for CVG in the near future? Now that MSP and Detriot are available at Delta "hubs, won't this further the demise of CVG's hub status
Richard Anderson (Jan 12, 2010 10:35:12 AM)
We have dramatically re-timed CVG and hope that our schedule will result in continued RASM improvement there. As I said earlier, I'll be up there in the next month or two to meet with employees.
That's all that was discussed on CVG.

Pay Statement
When does the Pay Statement for Dec 09 become available on DBMS? I am trying tu pull it up and it says "statement not available for input bid period"
I can see the paycheck but no statement.

3rd party confirmation
I don't want to hurt my credibility here, but I do enjoy the rumor talk. I'll try to get what I understand correct since I have 3rd/4th party confirmation.

1. JAL - a lot of things hinge on this going our way. The legal folks have already got the anti trust piece coordinated (unofficially) thru the DOJ.
Dang! Either those guys are really good - or they've been working on this a whole lot longer than we've been aware of it as a possibility. I remember the bufoonery when we initially tried to get PVG route authority, we looked like fools. Now we look like professionals. (my comments)
-MD90s are a part of the JAL deal
-DTW will be a base for MD90's.
-GUM looks more certain, tied with JAL. IMO JAL looks pretty certain.
2. 747-400 sim - another one is enroute to natco fo sho. 4 each 747s as a quid pro quo for 787 delays plus additional #s of them. The BOD must have blinked.
3. A330s - 16-18? additional. Not sure a real number is being floated, this was the speculated #.
4. A330 sim certified early spring, A330s to atl on the may/june AE.
5. Hiring next year as SD said, not this year. Greenslips aplenty this summer.
6. DAL to do KLM under/over wing servicing at JFK. I view this as an intra-company transfer payment, but it adds to the DAL balance sheet.
7. Alaska is just a rumor now.
8. No info or confirmation on 777s or 100-ish seater (wink wink nod nod on embraer).
9. No idea what the 767-400s will be flying out of JFK after this summer.
-I just wonder if these are on the market and those A330s are their replacement.
Everything of course hinges on the economy and other factors.
I can't think of anything else to share and some of my thoughts no doubt have rough edges. I know most of this stuff isnt news, but some sheds light.

Let me preface this by: THIS IS HOW I UNDERSTAND IT:
They CAN fly you into your soft (X) days but not golden days (*). If they do that, they give you PB (pay back) on your schedule on your next scheduled work day for exactly the number of HOURS that they used you on your soft (X) day off!
When they fly you for 12 hours into your soft day off, they will just start your next scheduled reserve 12 hours later. I.E. You will be PB (paid back) your 12 hours by just starting your next reserve period at Noon vs Midnight.
Long story short is that they can't fly you into a golden day so that's why you are automatically released at noon from long call preceding a golden day, but not so much for an soft (X) day off.
Clear as mud?

Any idea where those 747's are coming from? Are they new? Any plans for a new 747 base?

Does anyone know how the transition from burning up all sick leave to disability happens? Sorry to be a downer but have some problems with our baby that requires surgery. Plus Delta does not want me flying with all the distractions and emotional stress, thanks.
Sorry to hear Sawdog. I don't know anything about the transition but I am sure you can call Mrs. K at payroll and she will assist you. Prayers sendt for the baby, keep us posted.
Thoughts and prayers are with the sawdog. Another thing to think about is the Pilot assistant network, I think there is something like that.
