Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
[QUOTE=Scoop;742567]
The 737 is no where near the plane the 757 is and was a lot cheaper to build. But, you have hydraulic flight controls (not as effective as the bigger Boeings bust WORLDS better than the 88), the systems are reliable and the airplane is nicely coordinated. The 737 is a good airplane to make a living on. It does what you want it to do without a great deal of effort. VERY safe VERY easy VERY reliable VERY efficient. Everything its competition was not.
I find it interesting that guys always compare the 737NG to the MD-88. You are comparing an updated Boeing with an outdated MD. How about comparing a 717 to the 737-200. FWIW I have flown the DC-9, C-9B, MD-88, MD-90, 737-200, and the NGs (C-40s, 700s and 800s) but not the 717. All have their quirks and I liked them all.
The biggest deficiency in the group is the tight cockpit - especially the NGs - I am not sure that a 7+ block in a NG would be allowed legally as an interrogation method by the current Administration .

Oh great, that just gives a guy that like to move around a little bit warm and fuzzes about seven hour flights.

Can someone ask him about the MD90 DFW base comming up in the next bid? How big? When it opens? etc, etc...
If you pick up your coffee and take a sip, that airplane reports it to the ground.
Sorry to hear you are leaving the NYC ER. I'm on my way there. Would have been nice to fly together again.
If you're within 25-30 miles of TOD, don't do a cruise altitude change, just select "Descend Now". Multiple cruise altitude changes, especially coupled with speed changes/crossing restriction changes by ATC can get the hamsters to spin the wheel too fast. And it reduces the number of pages you have to type things on.
You need to be on a DAL computer to chat.
