Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
You mean like a previous 727 operator under the Nwa side... theve spent slot of money on the conversions in our airbuses and the teams really like them, I doubt they outsource the charter ops as it's profitable as is. plus the NFL/NBA/NHL etc teams aren't going to want to fly in an E-jet, they're nowhere close to as comfy as the buses and other planes we use.

That is a good question. If they weren't wholly owned, I think they could just paint them in their own livery and do what they want with any size airplane in a charter department. I don't know how our scope protects charter operations, but if they got some 100-seaters doing charters Delta could move alot of the narrowbody charter business to CPS.

The previous aircraft were 727's, & now we are using specially configured 319's that hold less then 60 people. In the NW pax config they hold 124. I really don't think an E190 would do the job, as most of the NBA players can barely fit in the A319.

Though the E-190 is a great platform for scheduled passenger service, it could only be used for collegiate sports charters. Using it for Pro sports teams is one way to lose a contract real quick.
The like bid jets and pay handsomely for them

Agreed! These pro teams don't skimp on keeping players comfy. They are picky and pay to be picky. They're the ones that approved the aircraft configurations. the interiors and amenities are very very nice!

The tab to keep a 319 in Pontiac, MI overnight ran the NBA over $6000.
FNW guys or anyone in the know....what are the codes NWON and NWOF on your schedules?
Thanks

The teams are not going to charter that size aircraft. Delta does a lot of charter business. They know what the teams want. I have done a lot of football and baseball charters. You have to keep in mind that you haul a entourage as well as the teams. They want lots of seats and room. The scope clause would not allow such a operation anyway.
