Exception three: A B-767/B-757 or a B-767/B-757 (International) pilot who is awarded an AE or VD in the same status for the B-767-400ER and undergoes B-757/767 to 767-400ER qualification training will incur a 9-month category freeze.

I agree, I do not see them outsourcing those NBA charters. Way to much money in them.

The teams are not going to charter that size aircraft. Delta does a lot of charter business. They know what the teams want. I have done a lot of football and baseball charters. You have to keep in mind that you haul a entourage as well as the teams. They want lots of seats and room. The scope clause would not allow such a operation anyway.

I think the latest charter contract for NBA/NHL was just signed after Champion was shut down. I also believe it is a 10 year contract, so I don't see that happening.

The previous aircraft were 727's, & now we are using specially configured 319's that hold less then 60 people. In the NW pax config they hold 124. I really don't think an E190 would do the job, as most of the NBA players can barely fit in the A319.

Though the E-190 is a great platform for scheduled passenger service, it could only be used for collegiate sports charters. Using it for Pro sports teams is one way to lose a contract real quick.

The like bid jets and pay handsomely for them

Agreed! These pro teams don't skimp on keeping players comfy. They are picky and pay to be picky. They're the ones that approved the aircraft configurations. the interiors and amenities are very very nice!

The tab to keep a 319 in Pontiac, MI overnight ran the NBA over $6000.

Can you imagine trying to fit NFL and NBA players into an RJ?
