Quick question for travel to training:
When I go to book on NW to MSP there is a training travel box to check under corporate travel reservations, but not when I book on a DL flight?
Is there anything different I have to for travel to training in ATL?

Spoke with the ALPA guys on Friday about a similar scenario. A new category is filled in seniority order. In other words, by the time they got to a specific bidder, if there wasn't any room, there would be no one junior to them to be displaced.
The ALPA guy did point out to anyone in a displacing category (SLC M88 and NYC 777) to not have an AE, simply put in MDs.
Seems the MDs and AEs are run simultaneously and are iterative (they go back and start over until everyone's accounted for).
Sorry its not the answer you were hoping for but I may have hosed it up and I encourage you to call them. They also pointed out the wealth of information posted on the DALPA site.

Fly, normally the training schedulers will list you for something that will get you to ATL in time to start training. You can go go to TravelNet, and look under your reservations to confirm and change if you want to. Since I come from the left coast, I normally change it to something a little earlier in the day so that I can get there and get some studying done. Go to TravelNet and check it out.

Think this one has been asked before, but I can't find it. Does the count on E-crew of pilots senior to you with a bid in for a position include displacements? Or just AE's? I think it's just AE's, anybody know for sure?

They will book you, so you dont have to. The flights are on your schedule. If you are a commuter, then call the CPO (do NOT call the number on travelnet) and they will transfer you to a nice lady that is more than happy to change your flight so it goes from home to ATL.

It's also not very good at really telling you what to expect. It shows the total number senior to you bidding for that position then it shows the number of people that are senior to you with that position as their first, second, or third preference. The total number includes people that may have it as there 50th preference so I wouldn't look at that total number. I've seen positions with over 100 people senior to me bidding for it, but only 15 bids as first, second, or third preferences. If they included the MD numbers with it, it would double count alot of people because most guys who have an AE in also have an MD in. The only really good way of giving us an idea of what we may expect is to publish the pre-closing "runs" they do so we can what is really being bid. Then guys would just put crap in to throw everyone off so I just put in what I want and hope I get the first or second choice.

Do they ever publish pre closing runs or anything of the sort?
