I also find it a bit surreal that DAL can lose money, have projections of losing even more money next year, and be part of an entire industry projected to lose multiple billions next year, yet still negotiate a multi-billion dollar deal.

No that's not why, in DTW its because there is safety in numbers and they don't want to get jacked, in MSP it is to keep warm!

2) I believe ACL is right, MEM 320 B. It'd make sense, a junior pilot in NYC ER can't be MD'd and then be reinstated to a more senior position in ATL 7ER.

Section 22 F
9. Normally, pilots who hold:
a. VDs will be scheduled for training in seniority order prior to pilots who hold MDs from the same posting and from the same category.
b. MDs from the same posting and from the same category will be scheduled for training in inverse seniority order.
10. A pilot will receive at least 30 days advance notice from the Company of the conversion date of his displacement.
11. The Company will not rescind a displacement within the 30 days before its conversion date without the consent of the pilot.
12. A pilot who holds an MD will, without regard to the standing bids of senior pilots, be reinstated to the category from which he was displaced if:
a. a vacancy is posted in such category and the earliest conversion date stated in the posting is within the 180 day period following the conversion date of his MD,
b. his standing bid indicates a request for such reinstatement, and
c. such vacancy has not been filled by reinstatement of a pilot senior to him who was also awarded an MD from such category.
Note: A former NWA pilot who held return or reinstatement rights pursuant to the provisions of Section 24.E.10. of the NWA CBA on the day prior to October 30, 2008 will retain these rights subject to the following provisions:... Section 22 F...

7. “Category” means the combination of a pilot’s position and base.

I wish I could post some pictures my brother just sent from Roanoke VA. Holy cow, its like an easy 2 feet of snow overnight. Lots of 23Ks this weekend.

I like your idea and raise you another;

Why not make it match our dispatch rules?

It seems like the "International" definition changed at the same time we made the 737-700 & 800 one category. Is that right?

Lets bring on 400 to 500 new hires, use the widebodies and 757's in Asia and stop worrying about who's going to fly narrow bodies out of MSP and JFK
