Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
ACL65,
Money has not been "saved." Costs are just being transferred to the pilots. The jet still goes to EWR-ATL on the first day to start and goes ATL-EWR on day four. When nearly every rotation starts or ends with ATL, I do have to believe they easily could have done better.

My point was in reference to the Wide Body positions going away.
Also, of note, no one here is saying everything is great. We still want scope restoration ,unity, a careful skeptic eye on all things JV-Code Share, and improvements in the contract. recent statements are in directed at the economy and DAL's future in regards to it.
Happy Bidding!

ACL65,
If they are going to build better rotations and become more commuter friendly they need to communicate that. Thus far all that has been communicated is that "commuting is a choice" and reneging on all their previous assurances about the stability of mecca's staffing.
You are probably right, but that is not what they are saying.

The reason this thread exists is because this airline like to keep things like AE's and the staffing modeling, rotations et al a secret. I agree that this stuff does not need to be kept from the pilots.
OK...I guess I should have said, "at 0830 MSP time" when I logged on and checked schedules no DAL-N bases had any schedules. It took a while to check email, get caught up on APC (especially this thread) and get to the point of posting an hour and a half later. They must have "snuck" them in on me prior to actually posting.
...It is just ironic that Delta's HR looks at how deep a person's roots are in the community. They look for a solid family, leadership and stability. Yet, they put nearly no thought into the effect of ripping these new hires up by their roots and telling them "commuting is a choice." We should hire antisocial misfits who are getting run out of town by debt collectors - they would be a perfect fit for what we are doing Of course a few more of these displacement bids and many of the formerly solid new hires will be divorced, antisocial misfits who are being pursued by debt collectors. How's the sale of that house going?
See the way our pay is now makes going to a more senior jet almost worthless as well. That is why there are 1997 hires sitting in the right seat of the 88. They get what they want off pick up a WS or GS every month and make what they would on the 767.

ACL,
You are right for the FO's. Most bid QOL. I think Viking is bidding for bucks.
Not that there's anything wrong with that. Hope they chase those bucks right out of Atlanta and leave some slots vacant for those of us who don't need a $18 bowl of Udon Beef.
Everyone else,
It has been a lot of fun on APC, thanks! I'm retiring from the web board, at least until there is good news to help folks out with. Best regards to all.

Bar;
I know that there are bunch of guys bidding out of ATL, it is just a question of who bids in on those vacant slots. Oh the mess!

Wrong. I'm the one who wants equal pay for all fleets and the ability to bid what you really want, and not bid for the mighty $. Afterall, I was hired to bring a plane from point A to point B in the safest, most efficient way possible. I prefer the ER, and will stay there until they MD me outta there. I know we have guys on the intl. routes that have problems with sleep and timezone changed but is hanging in there for the $$$.... Just sayin...
