Heyas,
For those inclined to play the open board, EZOpenBoard.com was only $2.95/mo AND did all of the same functions as the FDS stuff AND would email or text you when open trips popped up.
It also had a zero graphics format which meant it was blindingly fast on handheld devices.
I don't mind competition in this arena. NWA IT was notoriously uptight about security, but still allowed SS and others access into the mainframe FOR FREE. I hope DAL does the same...it really was a great thing.
Of course, 10 years ago, we had to pay Compuserve $9.99 for access at home, so in essence, having FDS nick me for the same amount makes me feel 10 years younger. Of course, we can't use CrewControl anymore to automatically book jumpseats, and the booking window is ridiculously tiny, but, pfttt, those are just details.

and EZOpenBoard emailed you when your schedule was published.......
I think we get a few months free on FDS so I'll check it out. Maybe with Steve's competition they'll come down on the monthly fee? Ain't American great...........

Funny story....
One of our illustrious Maddog FO's was getting ready in her seat this morning, and a cat...yes...a cat...went running underneath her legs and behind the rudder pedals.
And then they couldn't find it.
Finally found Mr. Whiskers in the avionics compartment.. had to take out an inverter to get to it.
I can only imagine the PA's made.... Those of you that are friends with me on facebook, you can see the picture of cat lady by looking through my recent photo comments on LW's page...
This is probably a picture of the cat earlier in the week:

"So, the whole story about the cat that got stuck in our cockpit this morning... Apparently TSA in all their infinite wisdom, decides that this lady has to open Beebo's cage in order for them to WAND him! Cat freaks out, bolts through the terminal, down our jetway, into the cockpit, under the rudder pedals, into the nos...e wheel well/ avionics compartment, whereupon he gets his head stuck in the wiring.
MX spent 2 hours taking the compartment apart, finally freeing him. All ends well. No crispy critter!"
and had the "crystal ball"
and emailed you the monthly bid list
and emailed you when you got a position award
and had "1 touch" jumpseat booking
and most of the site was free
and, and, and....
sigh...

So is there any truth to this rumor I hear floating around that Delta MEC is going to give Delta management relief on scope. The rumor is the company has approached the MEC and is going to get temporary relief for Compass to operate E195s until the new C model CRJ is out and available to main line. I personally hope this is not true, since when has a Major regained any scope back after they have given it up. I sincerely hope that the Delta MEC shuts this down quick. If not I never want to hear again how the regional airlines are stealing main line flying! Not if the MEC is going to sell out the mainline pilot, the industry and the profession.
