Ice,

He is talking about the unacknowleged "me too" clause our nonunion FA's have with management.

Essentially it goes like this: At contract time the pilots spend negotiating capital to get improvements. If these improvements could be useful to the FA's, they whine to the company and threaten unionization and the company gives it to them.

Now if they unionize, all bets are off!!!

News this good has not been hear around Detroit in a while. Figure about $15 million dollars in new jobs just came to town. For Atlanta about $45 million in jobs is leaving town.

Garrison Keilor must be excited about $25 million coming to town.

I guess Delta is keeping it's promises to the politicians. Somehow it seems I recall they promised no loss of jobs in Atlanta either. Have to take a look see through the archives.

Let's see ....

It looks to me that NYC just gained 139 widebody positions. (220 765 A's and B's minus the 81 777 A's and B's).

Compared this to the 116 that DTW gained (777's that North guys can't touch)minus the 63 747-400 FO's that are surplused, equates to a total widebody gain for DTW of 53.

But, you say the f-NWA bases are getting a windfall. Isn't NYC a f-DAL base? Tunnel vision is a bad thing to suffer from as a pilot, Bar.

Is there a place we can see what AC will be in each base?

Take a look at the 22D3 staffing report which has a link just below the link for the AE posting. Shows all the bases with aircraft and staffing numbers for the bid.

Don't disagree, just think policy is different than contract.

NYC is the winner of all the bases. If youre junior you'll be real nervous to see if you get to enjoy the windfall or not IMO. Otherwise it's not only won but with the LGA swap and hopefully terminal 4 and obliteration of terminal 3 will make it all that much greater. If they open BOS then that will trully make NYers in The NYC base the biggest winners of all time.

After further review:

It looks like EVERY base had a net GAIN in positions EXCEPT DTW and ATL (SEA looks to be even), yet you say the f-NWA bases got a windfall.

Either your tunnel vision is worse than I thought, or you believe that ATL was the only f-DAL base.... (or, maybe that's the same thing)

It's ok, Bar. It's kind of funny at this point.
