FTB has an excellent point.
A bid posting is not any sort of legally binding document.
Its only the awards that carry contractual rights.

The bid is just a rough draft of the company's intentions at that moment. They are free to look at who bids what and what kind of training and paid moves would be involved and then they can award whatever they want. Or not award whatever they want, as the case may be.

They were quite honest about that when they did the CVG7ER conversions. They put out a memo telling everyone that they may or may not follow through on the posting depending on who bids for the openings.

It sucks to reduce flying in any base, but I would say, unfortunatley, that there has been plenty of "pain" already spread around the DAL system.

Wonder if this displacement will silence some of the "commuting is a choice" crowd in ATL?

if the flying was leaving ATL, I would agree with you. But the flying is not leaving......just the jobs. A little different from DFW which closed and CVG which has lost it's flying.

The Delta reserve rules are AWFUL!!!! I have now worked 4 days in a row for 12:58 credit and only 3 flying duty periods. Under the former NWA contract, this would have credited me 20 hours. About the only thing better in the Delta contract is the hourly rates and not even by that much. I guess NWA credited me more for my time because the higher guarantee was harder to break. Rant over.
