Smile Known crewmember and alcohol

Sorry for the left field question. If I purchase bottles of liquor at Duty Free on my first leg to a foreign destination, will I have a problem at known crew member with those bottles in my suitcase after my domestic layover?

yes.

from the KCM website:

Crewmembers not in uniform:
  • Are not allowed LAGs exemptions and other exemptions applicable to uniformed flight crewmembers.

Yes.

If you go to KCM and get random'd and have to go through TSA Pre-check with the normal travelers, you are subject to the 3-1-1 liquid rule unless you are in uniform.

If you want to follow all the TSA rules, don't open the bottle. And be in uniform. I've done it many times and it's never been an issue.

Their rules allow 5L of alcohol below 140 proof in sealed retail packaging.

Another one to file under "we didn't think they would do that." Batch size limitations have made the greenslip coverage process clunky enough that in some cases scheduling has been skipping the process if the senior pilot eligible declines the trip and rerouting pilots instead. That way it "appears" they have followed the coverage ladder when in fact, they have not. ALWAYS file an Ace report if you're rerouted. That is all.
