Really?? I’d do it for free, in the four fans of freedom or any lame jet we fly at DAL.

New Ed Memo with some NFL style COVID protocols. Wonder how much of this applies to the Pilots:

We’ve always known that vaccinations are the most effective tool to keep our people safe and healthy in the face of this global health crisis. That’s why we’re taking additional, robust actions to increase our vaccination rate:

Effective immediately, unvaccinated employees are required to wear masks in all indoor Delta settings. This requirement will remain in place until community case rates stabilize.

Starting Sept. 12, any U.S. employee who is not fully vaccinated will be required to take a COVID test each week while community case rates are high. Those with a positive result will need to isolate and remain out of the workplace.

Beginning Nov. 1, unvaccinated employees enrolled in Delta’s account-based healthcare plan will be subject to a $200 monthly surcharge. The average hospital stay for COVID-19 has cost Delta $40,000 per person. This surcharge will be necessary to address the financial risk the decision to not vaccinate is creating for our company. In recent weeks since the rise of the B.1.617.2 variant, all Delta employees who have been hospitalized with COVID were not fully vaccinated.

Effective Sept. 30, in compliance with state and local laws, COVID pay protection will only be provided to fully vaccinated individuals who are experiencing a breakthrough infection.

what other medical conditions will I have to pay extra for having? Will smokers start getting charged extra? What if the reason you are not vaccinated is because you are allergic? Wouldn’t that fall under a pre existing condition?

TBH I’m fine with ending Covid pay protections for unvaxxed employees (as long as it is compliant with LOA 20-01 and any subsequent pay agreements with ALPA) and am fine with the mask thing, and Covid testing seems overly cautious but again, I don’t think that’s a HUGE issue, but the extra healthcare charge for not having a vaccine seems out of line.

It'll be interesting to see what the Union has to say. I'm interested to know how much of this is contractually compliant. Seems like the weekly testing is the only sure thing.

I thought we had a doctor on staff now. Is it really the unvaccinated spreading this thing? No credit for prior infections? Where is the science? We all knew this was coming. Thought it would take longer though.

I'm sure they had this planned, when they said they wouldn't require the vax, knowing approval was coming soon.

Smokers already pay more. Almost double, I think.

Edit - that’s for life insurance. I don’t know about health insurance. My bad
