MadDog
an actual human calls you with the GSWC proffer (sometimes the caller ID is "unknown").
no ARCOS or robo-call (like IA).
good luck ✈️!

1 year ago we were talking furloughs...now we're talking hiring over 1,000 pilots.

Enough to make a head spin, that's for sure

that’s for sure.
things get violent with the respiratory disease pandemics, such as the industry we are in.
hopefully next one is ways away.

if not during an election year probably going to be less damaging.

Not just furloughs, but wasn’t the number of 7000 pilots discussed and passed in official memos. A certain few here believed that and bought into the fear mongering. It says a lot about how we have gotten to where we are as a society. Go back and watch some TV series from the late 90s and the fear of the end of the world with Y2K and we didn’t have social media back then. My hope is we do more critical thinking as individuals using actual facts before believing every word spewed by our company.

Sorry for the rant, this is good news, but I couldn’t help but remember the BS coming from BS and others.

Agreed.

Go back almost 20 years from Y2K to the HIV/AIDs. They scared the living bee-jesus out of us back then. That was WAY before cell phones social media etc. I imagine if we had then what we have now technology wise it would have been a similar outcome as we just witnessed with china flu.

Then rather than hide and "lockdown" we rallied, asked questions, demanded answers and applied some critical thinking to the issue. We didn't shut down the world. Funny soe of the same names involved at that time with the HIV/AIDs are still around today (Fauci).

We had a few concerts, got together and tried to work with one another to solve the problem. No way we could do that today. Sad really.

Default New Sim

Delta has bought a 757 sim from AAL. It should be up and certified in 4 to 6 months. 7ER Fleet looking to hire an additional 20 SLI Instructors on top of the 25 recently hired.

a good rant and one that people should listen to. It's 100% accurate. We were in the midst of parking over 600 airplanes and yes, I remember the number 7,000 overstaffed at one point. I'm not going to lie - I believed I would be furloughed. If we hadn't seen any indication this would be short lived (think passenger numbers slowly climbing out of the brink) or gotten guvmint cheese, we may be singing a different tune today. But we aren't, thankfully.

It's a testament and a valuable lesson - life is tough. It will be tough going forward. Endurance is one of mans greatest strengths. The ability to endure what we can is astounding. It's time that we realize that.

Just imagine trying to pull off a D-Day invasion today.
