They send you a link to their airline apps application. You add your info there. I think.

Yea thats basically it. I did one for a guy last week.

They initiate the internal rec from their end via AirlineApps. I cant remember where it was mentioned, but they recommended having the link sent to your Delta email. Click on the link, directs you to AirlineApps where you can write nice words and check a box that you are a Delta pilot. Supposedly that gets the guys app auto-scored, but it's all a bit of a mystery to me how it actually works.

Would that same system be used for recommendations from non-pilot employees (FAs for example) or do those go through the regular Airline Apps recommendations outside of the Delta addendum? Is there any benefit in additional recommendations from other Delta employees or should we just include the pilots?

I don't know the exact answer, but when I filled out an internal rec last week via AirlineApps, on the form the link sends you to, it gives you the chance to check Yes/No to are you a Delta employee, as well as are you a Delta pilot. I'd venture to guess that only a pilot rec would get the app auto-scored. I always figured when it came to number of rec's, the more the better?

Gate agent rumint - Chatting with gate agent this morning on my commute to work. She asks if I’ve been busy…I say yes…then she tells me a pilot she knows took the retirement package, but was recently recalled and is back working. Any chance that’s true?

No. Possible wide body pilot was on reserve not working and is now flying while waiting for early retirement date.

Absolutely not possible. No. LOA 20-02 (The VEOP) language is crystal clear on that.

Which is why one should always take rumint stories with a huge degree of skepticism. People often have no idea what they are talking about.

Don’t disagree, but I recently ran into a LCA that bid off the 737 to WB this last big AE. Since we are short LCA, he will get bypassed and make WB pay for ~8 months while flying the 737. That’s straight from his mouth. The ‘project pilot’ loophole seems pretty wide.

Thats different then retiring and being recalled from retirement to be a trench coat wearing PRP.

The FAA must be really short and cannot sign off on new LCA now, or no one wants to be a LCA?
