Rumor has it that the new Covid Aid bill may have some $$$ for airlines, paying/assisting with salaries through the end of March.

Personally haven't flown/nor will fly for months, but it seemed a little lean on the line and more deferrals than usual on the aircraft a couple of months ago.

Anecdotally, my professional, Delta Sky Medallion neighbors have all asked me about the so-called "Thanksgiving meltdown" at Delta without being prompted. Sounds like big-D might be ramping up to avoid large cancelations that are avoidable with enough staffing on hand.

Then CNBC drops this article.
Delta CEO asks employees to take more unpaid leave.

Beats me. All I know is I should've put every penny of free cash on hand into DAL stock mid May ($19/share) and sold it today ($42/share).

I told you in July the vaccine will not be a "vaccine". It's not going to change the playing field at all. In fact I will state that it will actually make it worse. Especially as the side effects become known. Recall no animal trials were done. So you are in effect going to be the test subjects.

Univ of Pittsburgh medical just went on record saying they will not require their staff to get the vaccine. My wife's hospital group here in FL just came out with the same. When health care folks are starting to balk, your spidey sense should be tingling.

Until the populace, that has been driven to a frenzy of fear by the media, calms down and rationalizes the situation, the industry you work in will continue to founder.

Keep pushing masks and the like, it won't save this industry. Only fearless citizenry using common sense applied to this situation will save you.

Best of luck.

I am not going to comment about my personal opinion about the vaccine. From what I’ve read, it is effective and safe for a healthy person. My fear is that the first group of people to get it will be the most “at risk” (read elderly). They have stated that the vaccine causes side effects similar to the actual COVID bug, fever, chills, muscle and joint pain, headache. It’s a small price to pay for immunity, but... I know health care workers are in line with the elderly also, but if COVID can be deadly with the elderly, how will they tolerate the COVID like symptoms, even if it’s only for a day or two.

My fear is that as the vaccine is rolled out and given to elderly people (the most likely to die if infected) and some of them do indeed die from the vaccine, the FDA will shut down vaccinations and then we will really find ourselves in a pickle.

Before the general population even has access to the vaccine, the program might be put on hold if a significant number of elderly people don’t tolerate it well.

Im not really replying to you, Phins, I just used your post to segues into mine, so feel free to not reply to my post. I do not have an MD so what the fu@$ do I know, right. I’m just stating a problem I see possibly happening going forward.

Exactly what he's doing. Did you read on in his memo where he said non-paid LOA's will still be needed later in 2021? "Please consider if this decision is right for you and your family" and all. Playing the game.

Not sure why you keep saying this is not a “vaccine”. The CDC says it is. Please post a reference from either the CDC or a medical institution that states otherwise. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...its/facts.html

Simple and honest question. Do you believe all of your posts to be rooted in common sense?

I only had play money involved, but I managed to get some at $18 (lowest it hit was $17.51, glad I didn't stick with my original buy at $17.50...), and sold it at $36. A bit lower than I could've got, but still managed to double my money. That will pay for gifts this year.
