Agree that this is how icrew works, but does anybody know if that is what the contract dictates?

Yes it’s what the contract dictates. If we had the type of ability many want in moving Xdays reserves in many categories could effectively block trip awards for the entire month. Some use mil leave to do that now.

Depends on what type of XX day moves we're talking about. If you are inferring that people want to use their 13 off days as 1 day off every 2 or 3 days then I agree, Delta cannot run an airline that way. But moving a group of days from the middle of a large block to somewhere else, and the new schedule conforms to 3-99-5 or whatever the category rules happen to be should not be a problem. Assuming enough open RES days you can already do that, but it takes 2-3 PCS runs. Often I find myself in the situation where my end-state would be legal with proper RES available but the in-between steps of getting to that point I run into not having enough reserve coverage OR I'd have to give up a weekend of XX days knowing that once I move those, I won't be able to get them back since the REQ is already lower than the available. That is extremely frustrating and doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Try 12.M.8.a.3. - "An X-day(s) may be moved...provided the X-day(s) moved are...part of a series of contiguous X-days that includes either the first or last day of an X-day block,"

Ok, first time in 32 years I’ve had a trip just go NOOP. Trip was supposed to leave on the 14th. I understand enough of 23k to know I can be assigned recovery flying during the 6 hours after my scheduled report and that it has to get me back within 4 hours of my scheduled trip.

Here’s the question. I have a white slip in covering now until the 28th. If I get a white slip that leaves on the 13th, will I be paid the hours that fall within the NOOP’d trip? I’m pretty sure the answer is yes but thought I’d ask the brain trust! I guess a corollary question is will I even get a white slip since I’m subject to 23k assignment for 6 hours on the 14th?

Edit: Also, if I get a white slip that conflicts with the 23k recovery window, will I lose the pay for the NOOP’d trip?

Thanks for any help.

Denny

I don’t think you can WS that creates a conflict with your 23k.

You can request a Recovery Slip for earlier or later on the month if is at least 50% of the original value and will get paid the higher.

The WS can’t conflict with the entire recovery period for the old trip until the 6 hours after sign in expires. At that point you can WS anything and get paid for both. You can also do a recovery pickup but that will not get you additional hours unless the trip is worth more. I would verify but my understanding is if they award you the WS it’s additional pay. The system will not award you the trip if it conflicts with the recovery period.
Try plugging a trip into the rules auditor.

Also be aware that a trip that is 23k goes towards the WS pickup limit even if there is no recovery flying.

Gonna be awhile before I head to class yet, but wondering what headsets folks are using on the 220? Is it an intercom situation or good ol' open ear Telex worthy?
