These are all emergency orders declared to deal with the urgency of the virus. If the legislatures want to rescind them they are.

Here in Michigan the Governor did declare a State of Emergency, as permitted by law which the Legislature then consented to, then a challenge was upheld by the State Court of Claims.

Obviously each state is different.

It looks like flight attendants are the new reservation agents in terms of not having any. I have had nearly every flight this trip delayed for want of them and now my commute home is delayed. Frustrating we don’t learn from our mistakes.

I noticed on the Ops notes a couple of days ago that we had some cancellations for IFS.

I'm looking at options for some kind of high speed internet in a rural area. Xfinity says they service the area but after checking with them, they say my house is too far away from a hub and the signal would be too degraded so they don't service my address. No DSL providers that I can find either.

The only two options I can come up with are Viasat and Hughes Net. I don't like either one. I'm trying to be able to stream Netflix/PrimeTV. I might even be convinced to pay the price but the upload/download speeds (in my area) of these two options suck! I've also looked into using a hotspot from a phone company such as ATT but it's not really viable for other than surfing the internet.

Wondering if the collective might have some ideas. Thanks,

Denny
its not ready yet but it’s coming soon. Read up on spacex and star link. There will be high speed internet available everywhere soon. US will be the first market served.

Here is the kick in the ****. Comcast/Xfinity cable runs along the road in front of the property. The houses that are closer to the road have cable. Because I’m set back......no cable for me.....because I’m to far from a “hub.” Not cost effective for them to put one in.

Just click on the "In Flight Service" section of DeltaNet to see the details -- IPY (extra pay) to fly for basically every base in the system. And they are asking for volunteers to return from their Leaves early (until Jul 31). A large group returns 1 Aug from the May-Jun-Jul 3-month PLOC, but management has completely botched staffing until then.

I believe my parents had the same issue. They live on a flag lot and I think they ended up paying to have the cable run to their house. Might be worth asking a manager about something like that, but it’s probably going to be expensive.

EDIT: and like a good teenager, I accidentally chopped that cable up when my dad had me use a rototiller on the front flower beds

We moved into a place near Port Orchard that was served by century link DSL with a speed of about 4mbps (super slow). Wave Broadband had service at the main street about 1000’ from our house. They quoted us $3000 to run high speed internet to the house. We paid and it’s been worth every penny.

Lol! I talked to the local Xfinity store and they sent someone out to take a look and see......came back with a no. They then said to call 1-800-COMCAST and see what they say. I haven't done that yet. Heck, I'll get a ditchwich and did the darn trench myself.... Paying a little extra to get it would payoff in the long run........depending on how much extra it costs.
