Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I actually instructed at Delta and LCAed here. And have done a special project that every captain attends. I did things that I believed help the line pilot. Very small contribution to be sure. And it was a privilege to work with line pilots. I was being a little obtuse, and I apologize to you.

I used to be based in LAX, Is Delta using this time of low gate demand to smash apart terminal 3 and fast track the rebuild?

No, of course not. That is smart and efficient planning and execution. Neither traits our vaunted management team possess. Now back to crushing the FA union at all costs - even if they have to burn the airline to the ground.

Not being trite, but I cant imagine Delta could reschedule a project that has been in the works for years Eff permits. Eff workers. Eff budgets....OSHA, yea them too ..you get the jist
Maybe in a perfect world. But it sounds like a good idea...I agree with that...but prolly a bridge too far

They absolutely have.

So yes, making a project take 1/4 the time, provided it's shut down and empty other than my crew was often realistic.
There's a lot of extra work in not disturbing people not involved when things have to get done. If you have the run of the land, you can get stuff done fast and safe, and correct.
Prime example. Think of renovating a one bathroom house, while having to keep the bathroom at least "usable" by the end of the work day. Lots of repeated work to keep a toilet and shower usable. And it limits your options for shower replacement to basically prefab fiberglass that can be put in place in a shift.
Now think of a two bath house. You can basically shut down the one, gut it, and it actually goes faster because you don't have to bring it up to a basic function every day. Much easier when the kids are at the other parents for the summer, but still workable.
We're basically in our two terminal places, in a situation where the kids went to their mothers for the summer, it's just you and the wife/husband, and it's no big drama to go down to one bathroom.
