Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
All I am saying is that I would not put it past the company to try influencing our representatives. In no way did I say that it did happen only that it could.
Exactly. Especially if they become "consultants" after the fact. Then the two cannot be connected but it sure looks shady.

Sorry to change the subject but I am trying to figure out my options IF CVG 7ER category goes away. At SOC, does the 755 categories (specifically DTW) turn into an ER category? I guess it really doesn't have to, so the important question is, will the company "import" ER's into the category and start flying them to existing or new routes such as Europe or the Pacific? It seems that the ER might be a better fit for Europe cities currently flown by the 330 and it might be a nice fit for SEA/PDX to the Pacific. Any thoughts on this? I guess I'm just using a little wishful thinking and hoping IF CVG closes, DTW 755/ER might be a good option. It's pretty easy to get there as opposed to ATL or JFK.
Thanks,

Good question and I just want to keep it out in front of those who may know, I wish I had an "insider" answer though but I don't.
But if I had to make a guess, they have so far not said that CVG 7ER is going away and my bet is if it does then by that point or before that point DTW 7ER will be open- but at least you know right now DTW 777 will be open.
The one thing I'm curious, in all of the bid packages there are tables that show the trip length number of days. In-between NYC 777 and ATL 7ER there is a 7ER category with no base and no trips in it. What is interesting is they don't show a DTW 777 and MSP M88 table which we know are in the works, so does anyone know what or why this 7ER category is listed?
FtB,
the 755 will be 7ER after SOC.
It is listed for a reason (Just messin with ya)
They will not turn on those categories until the bid is out. They learned that the hard way with CVG 7ER.

they can post the AE at any time, I'm ready now. thanks
Sorry, I was distracted. The women of Fox News, my word, Julia! Martha! Patti Ann!... wow, crap, Shep Smith?!?... I guess I can rewind and watch the last hour again.
100 hours / 24 = soon. So is the 31st holding for SOC?

Any more news about Guam? Will this happen only if we get a stake in JAL or could we some how acquire the routes that JAL doesn't want or can't service?

135Toad,
I think Guam is a fall back position in case doing business in Japan becomes too one sided to be viable. Is that what you think, Sailing, ACL?
In any event we might see 737's in Asia anyway since they do 85% of what a 757 does for about 70% of the cost. The difference is marginal, but where the 757's awesomeness is not required the 737's pretty good works. The 737 can be backfilled by the MD90's cheaptocrity and the MD88 remains as craptastic as ever until someone invents a imported baby 757 made out of Tupperware & powered by a Flux Capacitor.
Meanwhile United's managers order new jets they can't pay for so the AirBus and Boeing marketing folks keep taking them and their wives to fancy dinners for free.
Guess 20,000 posts is going to be a tomorrow thing. Maybe we should save that spot to begin all the shouting about the first combined Advanced Entitlement. That way we'll have a handy marker to return to.
