We put aircraft into retirement status often in the fall. Good chance it comes back out in the Spring. They try and balance cycles on the airframes.
Thanks. We decided to do DUB instead of BUD, it looks like we've got an agreement with Aer Lingus and they do LGW-DUB -- any tips for zed fares on Aer Lingus?

Han, don’t want to research whole thread but DL flies from JFK to DUB. Since ur interested in zed fares, NR doesn’t seem to be a 4 letter word to you since zed is the lowest of the low in priority, and you are considering that. Maybe u were going to be in London anyway.?....just don’t fly outta LHR unless money is no object. Their taxes can be significant
If you do a zed I might suggest getting a back up with a later time of the day....depending on the carrier, they are not as versatile(ie. kinda a paid ticket and gate agent will swap it around if your times/dates change) Sometimes they can, sometimes they can't, but if you are in a third world destination(unlike the UK) it can be challenging to rebook/repurchase- think Cambodia/Quito/Joberg/ in the terminal in Sydney trying to zed to Auckland and flight leaving in 45 minutes. We typically buy several zeds on an assortment of carriers and just get the refund when returning home. Has been seamless as long as your credit card can afford the “expense” until reimbursement

Assuming adequate next day coverage, can you PB/PD short call or a trip after it's been assigned? I believe line holders can PB/PD up until the day prior with coverage but not sure if that carries over to reserves.

3-days prior for reserve pd’s IIRC
This is not correct. 3 days prior to move RES days; not PB, PD, or APD. I just need to know if it matters if you've been assigned a trip or SC.
From my interpretation of the PWA, 23.I.4 makes it look like I can PD for the next day on the 0700 PCS run but nothing after. If that's the case I've answered my own question since they don't do trip and SC assignments until after 0700.

Unblockable line
For Jan it looks like some in my category will be unblockable because of the LCW. If my category seniority is less than the RLL number does that make me more likely to be unblockable?

If you bid a RLL you can’t trade your unblockable/unbuildable reserve line for a blank regular line.
