It's rare, hotels have strong bookings there and the 'crew rates' I've always been quoted are stupid high. Sat reserve w/o a crashpad for a bit so I'm reasonably knowledgeable on the topic

Last hotel friendly to crews was the ole Hacienda but they were redeveloped into expensive condos and some boutique hotel now that doesn’t have any love for airline crews like the hacienda did.

I doubt that even if a good deal came up they could absorb any additional aircraft into the system. We are getting 5 A321/737-900’s each month and almost 1 A350/A330-900 per month for several years. The Cseries will add to those numbers.

Those aren't nearly expensive enough for a true quality ab initio program. To shave a few precious hours off its better to go full glass twinjet from hour one LOL
