In layman's terms an APD is just an extra powerful personal drop, which is unpaid leave. You can use it once a year to drop a trip or up to 4 consecutive reserve days.

It will go through with negative reserve coverage when your normal but unlimited in number personal drop would be denied.

An APD will normally be approved down to 25% reserve coverage, meaning for example with 8 reserves required it would normally be approved with 3 reserves available but not 2.

There are certain Holiday restrictions but I have had APDs approved over holidays before so it can't hurt.

I think of it as my Ace in the hole to get off when I can't bid off so I try to never use it unless I have to.

IVDs now are run prior to APDs so they are more powerful for getting off but they have there own restrictions.

How much advanced notice is there supposed to be for an AE? Are we looking at the Sep/Oct AE happening in Nov?

Yes, you can. The pay is at straight pay and is added to your current flying for the month (not on top of guarantee), and you don't get the days off back.

Does Delta pay for parking for commuters? I.e. Living in DC area and commuting to a DL base, what do they provide towards parking in a D.C. Airport which is not a pilot domicile?

Only if there is a FA base there. For example, SAN has a virtual FA base so Pilots can get SAN parking.

Not sure about any FA bases in DC.

Thanks man. I suck at looking this stuff up in the pwa. I burned over a half an hour and still couldn't find it.

How do we order name tags? Mine are scratched beyond recognition and I'd like the fancy glass-encased ones. Nothing on Flight Ops website or the "mandatory" vendor website.

Thanks.
