Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
We can already do that with PDs and APDs . The problem is you "spend" your vacation hours covering a drop and still have to take the vacation with no pay in FEB. I don't want to work more, just at different times. Work a 85 hour month in FEB and a 75 hour month in JUL.
Both ways result in increased staffing. The vacation available needs to increase in the summer. That would also help the company with predictability. My summer family vacation has been via APD on a long international trip the last few years. freeing up 2 weeks minimum. Had there been the same number of weeks available as FEB (or even half) and I could hold that week there would be no need. The way it is now 5 week per Sunday start date in the summer and 25 in the winter.
Vacation time can be used to cover the lost time from PDs and APDs. Ref. 23.I.15.a.

First I've ever heard that--and, frankly, it doesn't appear to make sense nor jibe with the language I've read in the NNs, etc. What are you basing that on...?
Just to be clear, you are not talking about using IVDs. Correct?
I think Jughead is referring to how IVDs work in the new contract and the NNs associated with those changes.
It sounds to me like you are talking about using a PD or an APD and then contacting the company to use vacation bank hours to recover pay that month. Essentially robbing Peter to pay Paul when those vacation days come around and there aren't hours left in the bank to pay them.
I don't think they are really the same. IVDs move the vacation days and there isn't any robbing Peter to pay Paul.

'Twas the night before Christmas
I knew I was hosed
When I got to security
KCM had just closed
I moved to the main line
And took off my shoes
The passengers behind me
Had drank too much booze
They yelled at the TSA
Obscenities flying
In front of me someone's
Baby was crying
I got to the crew lounge
The Field Standbys were snoring
While out on the flight line
The airplanes were soaring
On Guppy! On Minnow!
On Sparky! On Whale!
Carrying passengers
Cargo and mail
To their homes and their families
To their moms and their dads
While the Long Call commuters
Went to their crash pads
So sit back, relax
Pull your lap belt strap tight
Merry Christmas to all,
And to all a good flight!
Merry Christmas, where ever you are!

Don't get me wrong, IVDs are better than no IVDs but I still see myself bidding and the APDing a 6-9 day trip. Using either VAC time or bank time to ensure the summer vacation.

Our Indian A line has strange gingivitis
But we're in luck, it seems there are two extra fish!
I ate mine, I tell you it was quite delish
The Captain however, did not fare so well
A gray plastic bag did not quench the smell
But on we fly, there is work to be done
Customs closed on E, but you can make F if you run
The flight bag pharmacy is really great
Just don't ask me about the expiration date
I hope you feel better, great trip, it was fun
Killed the APU, IRU, I'm outta here, done!
Merry Christmas

bank question...
this was my recurrent month and I had a decent amount of carry in so I'm at 95:06 for the month. Showing a credit of 83:06 and credit for G/S at 95:06. I set my bank to 20 to bank anything over 80 but it's only taking 3:06 leaving my 12:00 for training out. Is it because its treating training like a GS of pay/no credit?

Correct. If you look at your time card you will see the training is in the pay/no credit column so you are only able to deposit your credit time over 80. On the initial bid I think recurrent is counted towards the ALV window and counts towards the GS trigger but it ends up being pay only. Vacation is the same way. At least that's my understanding.

I went negative 25 hours when we had a baby, took me several years to get to zero. (lots of reserve, but even as a line holder it took a while)
