Just to clarify, and I know we all know this but if you're flying international you need a SIC type at a min and an augmented crew a PIC type (7ER, 777, 765, and in the case of CAL 737s who do augmented crews ).
So everyone should have an SIC type unless their plane absolutely does not go outside of the U.S.
So are we asking if it is a PIC type on the 320?

Did you know DAL-S has already been giving out DC9 PIC an SIC types?
I have a couple reserve questions:
If I am sitting long call on my last day of reserve before an X-day, is it safe to go home (leave base) fairly early in the morning (like 10am)?
Are they allowed to give out trips that start on X-days?
How often do they do it if it's allowed?
Is it pretty common to work involuntarily on X-days?

When I used to commute, I always sat long call at home in DTW. There was about a 20 minute window where making the 12 hour (to NYC or ATL) window would be a bit of an issue.
I've sat reserve every month but 3 at DL and have never worked on an X-day that I didn't volunteer for.
But be careful. If its gonna happen it will be around Xmas or the Super Bowl.
A lot of sudden flu cases among line holders seem to occur at those times.
Only other possibility is major IROPS. ie => snow in Atlanta.
Any trace of snow or ice at Hartsfield is a 5 alarm red light emergency for Delta Ops.

Agreed. It is VERY rare.

Well guys, I just got a MEC Memo on the JAL JV. It is in effect info on the deal. I guess complaining on here works. Thanks for listening! This is the info that is needed for our group!
Good job MEC!

Kudos for the MEC for putting out some perspective on the current situation and the historical context and possible parallels....
Cheers
