I'm not on probation, but I am on RES on Thanksgiving so ditto to that, too. Make sure they buy the beer. (...and the buffet if the hotel has one. :-)

Ok, need a answer on a reserve question. Haven't sat reserve in a long time and don't know. By the contract, would a yellow slip be awarded prior to a reserve being awarded the trip. Both of us on reserve and
I'm senior. I have 5 days of availability and them 4, first day for both of us tomorrow. Its a 4 day trip.

Yes and assuming you are in the same bucket group.

If a junior pilot has a YS in and you don't they will normally honor the preference request and just give what's left to the guy without a preference. If both have preferences (YS) in they are given in seniority order by bucket/day groupings.

If you are in the 4 day group and YS for a 1 day and a guy junior to you have no YS but is in the 1 day group they will give the 1 day to him and give you something longer if needed.

Ok, my thought process was correct. I had a specific yellow slip in for the trip (I'm senior, same grouping, he has 4 days of availability, me 5), the trip was not awarded to him on a yellow slip, just assigned, ie no note on trip coverage board.

Realize if your YS was a don't fly unless needed they will assign it to someone else if you aren't otherwise needed.

Heard this rumor, would like some confirmation. Does a pilot have to be off probation in order to submit a letter of recommendation? Thanks.

To add to what TED74 said, Delta considers you one of their own the minute you start indoc. Your recommendation carries the same weight as those that have been here much longer.
