Is there a way to see monthly bid awards from last year?
I'm trying to gauge if it's realistic to expect/get Xmas off in my category based on historical data.

The data is out there, it would be nice if there was an archive section to see all the old AEs and PBS awards. I'd really like to be able to view load data from years past when I try to plan my family vacations.

Look on the category lists for the half dozen or so pilots around your seniority. Write down there employee numbers and then go view their schedules for last DEC.

By the PWA a low-time FO is not supposed to be awarded a trip with a low-time Captain unless there's a waiver from the FAA.
Question: Do we have a waiver for the A320 regarding pairing of low-time pilots? If not, has anyone encountered this?
I've got an email in with the DALPA Scheduling committee. They've had it for less than 12 hours, but I'm impatient and thus posting the question here.

Before anyone slings arrows at the new guy....I am not demanding/expecting/or anything of the sort to be off for Xmas. Merely wondering if it was even REMOTELY possible for a new guy to work it (within the PWA) to get off Xmas.
The technique I see used was guys would bid reserve, and Yellow Slip on days off early in the month to fill up. thus dropping their reserve days at the end of the month over Xmas. Brilliant.
I always wondered why in the world someone would want to YS on a day off....now i think i see the reason

Far better to bid a line if you can (else start next can be your friend, but know how to use it) and actually try to work those holidays but either finish early or leave late on XMAS (whatever your preference) as that significantly amplifies your seniority assuming you can't quite bid it off outright as a line holder or reserve.
The last thing I would do is try to hammer yourself all month, on your days off, for free, hoping it all works out for that one special day.

(next bid group)Desire off from 24Dec 1500 - 25Dec 1500 all or nothing else start next. (range of dates, apply time to range)
(next bid group)Reserve: Desire off 24Dec, 25Dec all or nothing else start next. (only can choose full dates bidding reserve)
(next bid group)...etc.
...narrowing the restrictions each bid group. I used this strategy to get a 9-day chunk of days off around a family reunion (disclaimer: non-holiday and ended up on reserve to get them)
Also, there are youtube videos for bidding strategies that you might look at.
What do the gurus think??
