Unverified rumor I heard yesterday.

They are trying to figure out how to move the Manchester sim. May be hiring big russian cargo plane to do the lifting.

Funding for a brand new sim is approved for purchase from Thales. Takes about 12 months to build and certify.

Havent been able to confirm the new sim part with anyone.

You can do it up with one hand in 1 second and you absolutely cannot tell the difference between it and a normal coat.

It is full of win.

Or we could just wear leather jackets and not worry about popping buttons...

It's not hard to move a sim - it comes apart into chunks. The hard part is putting it back together. Usually each one was hand built and is different than other sims of the same aircraft.

We have 21 767-400´s and 1 sim. 16 777´s and 2 sims, (and the new one says 777-300 on the digital display above the sim door). Any wonder 767-400 and A330 are not fenced? When you gonna get a training slot??

PS-100 pages to 2000, about 3 days?

The bulk of the 767-400 transition training is done in regular 757/767 sims. The differences are taught in the 400 sim so they really don't need more then the 1 sim. The A330 however the entire transition course I am sure is taught in the A330 sim. From what the NWA guys have said about their only being 1 sim it sounds like the company line that they don't have enough sim time to move the flying is true. Perhaps next fall if they get the other sim they will start moving the time. In the near term ATL will take a hit with no replacement for the 767-400. Long term it should work itself out.

I sure do not see this uniform going away. Hat and all. Best to get used to it.

Sounds like something Lois Griffin would have made for Peter.

When I was a new hire back in the pre-9/11 era I did sim training in SLC, ATL and MIA. We were sending guys all over the country for sim training. I'm curious if there are any other 330 sims in the US? If so, why the headache over this. Obviously there is an additional cost if we don't own the sim but the cost of displacing and paying for moves to DTW and MSP from ATL may make that additional cost pale in comparison. Also, if the rumor of additional 330s becomes reality, they should surely price in sim time as part of the deal.

Genius. I don't even need this but want it due to the brilliance.
