Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Malarone is not 100%. You can still get it even taking all the precautiuons. Malaria can be treated, but it can still kill you, and if it doesn't it is with you for life and when it does flare up it is very unpleasant. And fyi, Malaria kills millions of children.
I get your concern. I just don't see how the company will be able to cater to every child bearing age employee. Especially since we are hiring in the numbers we are currently doing so. (Of course like all things in this business, if the pay is increased, somehow the danger level goes down ) It is not an easy issue.
Oh, and I was told when I was assigned LOS that the company would go out of business the next day so I had to go. (sarcasm) It sucked, but at least it was high time. I would love to know how to get out of that the next time I am assigned one.

You're referencing severe malaria which is indeed bad stuff that can kill you even with treatment. However the more common strains of malaria are very treatable and you will go on to have a normal life. I've had malaria multiple times and so has most of my immediate family.
I'm happy with the merger. Saved a lot of guys from getting furloughed. Never once complained about the SLI, ever. However, I am angry when guys like you do everything you can to pretend you're "one of us," but are clearly a management puppet.
You'll get your pay rate increase, tsquare. The only question is whether you will fight to help the rest of the pilot group whose focus is not on hourly pay rates along the way. Actually, it's not much of a question. We already know the answer.
For God and Mother Delta, amirite, my man?

Seriously dude, turn off the echo.
Sorry to interrupt the back and forth bickering, but does anyone know what happens with an F/O that is scheduled for a wide body rotation that is double- crewed (another separate rotation) due to leg length that has the captain is giving TOE to another F/O on said rotation? I assume he gets paid to sit at home? Credit? Thanks in advance...VF

So the latest weekly update said 32 open 7er slots for new hires and 0 offered on the AE. I thought they had to offer the spots on an AE before new hires

## (# posted)
# = how many were on the posted AE on 18 July
## = how many vacancies left after everyone moved around from the bidding process. Also number now available to be filled by new hires.

If the F/O is previously typed, then the senior F/O on the trip usually gets offered to be set free with pay protection.

Maybe they were unfilled "backfill" when pilots in those spots left for other openings. Lots of backfilled spots get filled on an AE that were never "posted" that is why you bid what you want and take your chances on every AE.
Is the F/O previously typed on the aircraft? If not, all four pilots will go since the untyped F/O cannot be trusted to sit with another F/O until IOE complete according to the FAA.
