Beware of rental car insurance scams, they are aplenty, even with the big firms. Highly recommend buying the 'local' insurance for damage. Be sure to fully check out the car, including the roof for damage. Still, there is a good possibility you'll get dinged by someone, and they'll charge you a fortune to fix cosmetic scrapes. Don't leave anything in the car, as it's an invitation for theft.

June schedule had 3 LCA trips. Looks like I'll be 0 for 3 for OE drops. Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug....

Thanks for all the advice regarding Costa Rica. I'm hoping I can get all 4 of us down there via non-rev but we'll just go somewhere else if we can't.

Can anyone briefly explain the difference in the "Delta Pilots Savings Plan" and the "Delta Pilots Defined Contribution Plan"?

Cheers,

The latter doesn't exist anymore or at least isn't for new hires. The former is the 15% contribution the company gives you regardless of your personal 401k election.

The DPDCP was what was created when the pension was cancelled. The DPSP was a 401K that existed for all employees as well with Fidelity.

A couple of years ago, they decided (ALPA and the Company) to just merge the DPDCP into the DPSP and make the contributions to the DPSP instead.

At that time you could have rolled your DPDCP balance into the DPSP, taken it out with applicable tax penalties, or rolled it into your own IRA.

So as posted above, for all newbe's it's all just the DPSP.

2% just 2%

It reminds me of Will Farrell in The Land of the lost "his brain is the size of a walnut, a walnut"
