This isn't inclusive of the DC plan correct? I think I read that it was 53k? So to max out the retirement you could put a pretax 18k and receive a 53k DC contribution for the year, for a total of 71k?

I'm on reserve with credit of 72.5. If I get a two day gs, can I request 2.5 from my bank (which is currently 0 because I'm new) to get me to the trigger, then request whatever hours above 80 to go back into my bank?
The answer is no. The GS will be double pay but no credit. So if you pull 2.5 hours out of the bank and then do, for example, a 15:45 GS, you'll get 106:30 of pay but only 75:00 of credit. You can't bank pay—only credit—so you'll still be 5 hours short of being able to put anything back in the bank.

This is why you should try to bank everything over 80 hours of credit whenever you can—because GS don't count as credit. So you need some high-credit months to beef up your bank so you can do low credit in the summer to leave FAR and PWA overhead for your greenslips.

For what it's worth, you could also just use the first 2.5 hours of that GS to fill up, and then everything over 75:00 will be double pay. In the example of a 15:45 GS, 2:30 would be at straight pay and the remaining 13:15 would pay double for a total of for 101:30 total. Factor in the 2:30 that you no longer have to pay back into the bank at a later date (and possibly higher pay rate), and you're 2:30 short of where you'd be by going negative bank.

The 18k is your personal pre-tax contribution limit. It counts against the 415 max of 53000. So if you contribute 18, the company deferred tax max DC contribution is 35000. If 15% of your income exceeds that amount, you get the amount over 35000 as normal taxable income. If you are over 50, or turning 50 this year, you can put in an additional 6000 in pre-tax catch-up contributions that does not count against the 53000.

My iPad dumped all my bookmarks.

Can someone post the link for direct access to Icrew without going thru Deltanet. Not the mobile version of icrew but the full one.

Thanks

Ok, thanks for clearing that up.

Ok so I got a gs that duties off at 816 am. Gives me a partial pb day later with a start of long call at 1716. How does the schedule check at 1500 affect my show with the later reserve start time? What's the earliest I can have a show time?

All true except he said he's on reserve, so the GS will not pay double.

Reserve pilots do not need to worry about the trigger. That is a REG thing only.

For a reserve pilot a GS is single pay, no credit above guarantee and he will get payback days for any X days that he flies over. Additionally he will get a PR (Partial Reserve?) for any X day that he blocks back in after 14:30 local. This will be calculated based on the actual time that he blocks back in.

Always check to make sure your PB days are added to your Sked as its a manual process and I'd say 20% of the time I have to remind them to apply them. Reserves can then GS on PB days which is where the term rolling thunder comes from - making it rain on your "rolled" days off.

There is a whole section of the PWA describing reserve greenslips with additional details that may apply. Also the Scheduling Reference Handbook has a great explanation of all of this in mostly plain English. You can find it on the DALPA website under scheduling.

Ahh, missed that, thanks.

Well, keep that info in your back pocket for when you've got a line and you have to think about the trigger.
