I'm trying to move it one week earlier. I'm a line holder but, if it matters, there's better reserve coverage and nothing in open time that week for my category vs. poor reserve coverage and lots in open time during my current vacation week.
It has to be done using the slide vacation feature in PBS. Now that bidding is closed its to late.

Carry over trips?
Can you use a APD or PD for a trip that starts on July 1 to drop the whole trip?
Can you use 1 PB day to drop a 5 day trip?

Is it kosher to call crew tracking and tell them this or will that just guarantee me a reroute? How about Chief Pilots Office?

Thanks
You can't be assigned "tag on flying"...IE legs after the originally scheduled last leg you get in. Unless the last day gets completely re-routed, you should be good if you can make it home.

I made it thru without being rerouted. So my question is OBE.
As for the tag ons I've had two in the last 3 weeks, one added 4 legs to the last leg back to base and the other added a turn. Once I was a line holder and once I had a reserve line. I wrote ALPA scheduling but the answer I got back was "if it went thru trip coverage then it's legal." Figured I must be missing some catch all reroute para in the PWA.

If you were/are a lineholder, per the PWA, you cannot be given additional legs after you land in domicile on the last leg of your rotation. If you did fly it, call DALPA and let them know so they can get the tag-on legs reclassified as a new rotation and get you assignment pay for it.

I'm pretty sure you can drop a carryover trip with a PD or an APD. I think there is a caveat or two about when you can do it. You can use one PB day to drop a 5day trip but only if you have 1 PB day to begin with. If you drop a 5 day with PB days it will debit your PB day bank up to the 5 days for the trip.

As a line holder correct, as a reserve they can do this to you -- even if you're GSing on a PB/XX day.

That said, if you are a line holder they might try and do this to you. If you're a line holder, as somebody already said then you are eligible for assignment pay if you fly tag-on reroute flying.

I live in domicile and don't care much about show time, release time, or where I lay over. For June, I have trips on days I want to fly, and no trips on days I don't. Is there any reason I shouldn't put in GSWCs for each of the periods covered by my trips? How about OOB GSWC...with some time limits so I'm confident I could get to another base? Thanks for any advice...I've never entered either.

I cant make myself look at pwa right now, but I know there is a PD Medical in there. Its a PD so no pay, but you can drop.

Any time I put in a GSWC, it has no trip parameters. The logic being, you get paid for the trip on your line and be it a 1-10 gswc, youre winning.

As far as time parameters before sign in for any gs, gswc, oobgs or oobgswc, I never specify an award to report. If they want you there, theyll get you there.
