Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
About 10 765's worth of flying to JFK.
330 not on this bid
GUM may not go this bid
ER will more than likely not move this bid
Big gain in 320 slots with this bid
777 to DTW and yes, it should be bigger.
I do not see a reason to put the 9 in ATL as a base. I am assuming it will be fly through.
Still wonder about the 744.....
Probably will not see a few others things, but it will be on a second major bid in Aug of 2010.
Happy bidding!
Enjoying my final few months on the 767 before I go to the 320!

So with all this - when do you think the AE will be coming out? Still before the 15th?
IMHO it will come out the day SOC is signed, and close after the effective date. That would be anywhere after Dec 13.
I would assume that this bidding would be open for more than 10 days, but it may not be.
I have heard 14-45 days. I do not see a reason for more than 10-14 days so I am betting on opening on the 16th and closing on the 31st with bids posted the week after. Now, they could do 10 days since the North guys have had one AE, and then close it in the 26th with the awards being posted on the 31st/1st and training starting later in the month.
What you need to look for is unfilled slots. If there are unfilled slots on the AE, IMO that is a real good indication on if they are going to hire. You need open slots for guys to hire in too!!
(get off the computer you have more important things to deal with today )

I still wish we could do a couple of practice bids. With bidding in Atlanta expected to be "brutal" it would be good to gain as much insight as possible into the bid results before committing to a plan of action.
Can anyone fill in the details of "brutal" ? Unless they displace off the 767 I would expect that the increased utilization of the f-NWA jets would result in entitlements rather than displacements.

Doesn't the "brutality" include them moving some 765 and some 777 spots from ATL? Those guys are just going to bid down to stay in ATL, right?
Also, someone asked about why the APA system reduced stress. It reduced stress because you could sit and watch what was going on for a couple of months (because it came out every month). Now, you have to make some decisions based on incomplete information so you won't be waiting till maybe 6 to 8 months from now.

Yes and Yes. I would expect a majority of the 765 and 777 to stay in ATL and displace those below them. Right now the phrase "look out below" is coming to mind. Depending on the numbers it may be that a 767 FO may not even hold anything in ATL. Hopefully I will be proved very wrong by this.

I think I would define "brutal" as any bid where you have widebody displacements. The ripple effect of just moving the 10 765's to JFK is an atom bomb. When you throw in the 777's, just duck and cover.
It'll figratively be like the ardennes forest with trees exploding. Junior guys holding decent equipment will feel like Muck and Pincala in Band of Brothers.
Brutal.
I'm watching the Asia flying, if it goes to LAX I guess I'll follow it there. Now if it goes to the 737? Also, I wonder what will hold an A320A in Salt Lake? Will the senior SLC guys bid that to keep from commutting or will they follow their jets. Also, what will the MSP guys do? Geeze, this all makes my head explode..............

Also anyone know if the 7er will shrink in nyc??? since the 765 is coming up!! also will the domestic flights go back to atl or are they here to stay in nyc??
I agree with you Fred, my last place of work had bids every month so you could watch and not make a rushed decision!!! that would be nice to have here instead of only every 6 months or so.
with such big changes I smell the 88 or 9 in my future!!! school house here I come (really not wanting it)
