So much to work with this in this one paragraph.

The “development” aspect of the program was particularly true for the legacy FMS, for which IS&S was to replace some—but not all—of the functions. “Delta prohibited IS&S from completely replacing the existing FMS because it contains proprietary algorithms that calculate the optimal vertical flight path to minimize fuel consumption,” says IS&S in the complaint. Delta denies that claim as well as IS&S’s assertion that the airline ultimately canceled the program because it “adopted a new fleet-planning strategy” that calls for replacing the MD-88s and MD-90s. “In short, Delta has changed its mind about the retrofit project and come down with a case of buyer’s remorse,” the complaint argues.
I totally don't buy that the 88 has an algorithm to optimize vertical flight paths but I absolutely believe that what's there is proprietary.

That said it looks like DAL wants out of the 88/90. Hmmm. Something something something Embraer 190.

S2B for one eligible pass rider from 12/23-28 and 12/30-1/4

From the memo. Hope this helps...

In order to use the S2B pass your pass rider should:
• List for the flight as they normally would for non-revenue travel
• Select S-2B priority when prompted
• If checking in with a ticket agent or via TravelNet, simply request S-2B priority

I'm not surprised in the least that there is a not so distant plan to retire the 88/90s. I have nothing to substantiate my feeling on the matter but I believe it to be the case.

Merry Christmas all!

23 L 8 question:
If you get rerouted into another day while on a GS, what is the pay for that? My time card has 11 hours of reroute pay showing, plus some GS time...

I've read 23 L 8 several times and I'm still not having the light bulb moment

Thanks to all

Default Reserve after CQ?

How quickly can they use me after CQ if I'm reserve the next day? PWA says I'm "uncontactable" for 9 hours after the sim, and it also says that as a long call pilot I have to have 12 hours prior to anything they want me to do. If I finish the Sim at say 3pm then I'm good for 21 hours. Does that sound remotely right?

Unless, of course, they assign me a trip while I'm in the sim in training and when I finish it is sitting in my schedule for the next day.

Any inputs or expertise or something I'm missing?

Does reroute play only apply if you are extended past your scheduled rotation? I had two mid rotation reroutes but ended up on rotation and home on time.
