Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
My January schedule says "Affected by SLG". Anyone know what that means?

I think they alternate every other time, I don't know whose up for the next one.
PBS Gouge:
Secondary Line Generation (SLG)
There is one final method that PBS will employ if necessary to award a line from a Pairings bid group, Secondary Line Generation, SLG. SLG looks at any pairings that are not awarded to senior pilots to find any combination that will make a legal line without regard for your preferences. There are some limitations. For example if the only combination of pairings has Christmas off and pilots senior to you have to work Christmas, SLG will not award the line. While SLG sounds very bad, remember that PBS will only use SLG after exhausting multiple completion attempts. It is a last desperate attempt to award a line as opposed to a simple ignoring of your preferences. Generally, this only occurs towards the very bottom of the regular line pilots where the available pairings are very sparse. In June 2009 there were 9 SLG’s out of 5064 regular lines.

Thanks man.........guess it's time to go back and read that thing. Haven't done that since the merger I'd forgotten it even existed.
Yup.......as the plug that's what I can expect. However, I'm happy to have a regular schedule AND it's a trip I would have actually bid. Maybe next time I'll take time to put something in vs award trips before moving onto the reserve bid

I just had CQ on different equipment but the FO was the pilot flying for the LOE. Depending on the abnormal the FO will likely end up flying anyway so it really doesn't matter. My advice is to obviously use the DIG to guide your prep. The first day will be very busy but there is usually a good mix of reviewing stuff you already know and seeing a few new things the training center is trying to make us aware of. I generally get a lot out of it. The LOE is pretty much exactly the same as the event you had previously. Some guys like to dig around and find out the scenarios ahead of time. Personally I think I perform better when I allow the LOE to unfold as it is meant to without knowing what might happen ahead of time. Even when you do know the scenarios it rarely plays out like you imagine and IMO hurts more than it helps. YMMV.

So you can bid right now, but if you want to know the exact weeks available it won't be until Jan 1....but don't forget to bid by the deadline of the 8th!
Treat it like it's a real airplane! Check out the ECAM Messages section of the MDM to refresh how to deal with Class II messages (all the sims randomly generate them with no control from the IP).
Enjoy!
FO is pilot flying, not first flight of the day, and the pairing is either LGA-BOS or PDX-SEA.

The only reason I knew about it was an Indoc classmate of mine had this happen to her last month. We couldn't figure it out and eventually she called the ALPA skeds folks and they walked her through the explanation.
In any case, good stuff in the PBS gouge for sure.
And yes, a line is way better than reserve, esp if you're a commuter! (yeah, yeah, it's a choice...)
