No, they don't have to backfill.

As outlined in the FOM, Crewmembers will demand identification of each unticketed, unidentified person on or in the vicinity of the aircraft or any secure area. Pay attention to the validity of the presented ID (expiration date) and that the ID is valid for the particular airport. Verify that the presented ID corresponds to the person presenting it. If appropriate, notify ACS, airport authorities, or a law enforcement officer.

So if I read this correctly, I'm supposed to challenge every single person with a 6-9 foot radius of my jet and not only make sure they have a badge, but that the badge is the correct badge and not expired? Really? The TSA which failed 98% of all in-house red team inspections is now placing the onus on me to do their job for them on the ramp?
I foresee a whole bunch of captains no longer doing preflights.

I'll need some formal training before I can properly accomplish this task. Just like gate house PAs. And by formal, I don't mean 5 minutes added on to the quarterly training CD.

Amount depending on degree of difficulty: $$$ for a speedy one, but only $ for a fat one.

They are not required to backfill however unless it's a overmanned category they normally will on the same bid. If not it will be filled on the next bid.

Quarterly CQ question...........

I just picked up the disk for Q4. Iv'e got a week off and was going to knock it off but..........

I just finished my last trip on the 330, doing it for the 330 is a waste of time. However I don't convert to the ER till Nov so will I get credit for it on the ER if I do it now?

I could call someone official, but why do that when I got da broz right here on da interwebs.

It's just considered complete. Your IQ on the ER satisfies the requirement, and you won't have to do anything extra for QCQ.
