Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Windows 10 comes out in 3 days.
Does anybody know if our Surface tablets are going to be included?
I think Windows 10 is replacing Windows NT for most devices.
I understand Microsoft is releasing 10 as an Automatic Update for anybody running 8.1 but optional for NT.
Are we supposed to accept the update?

and (c) corporate copies of Windows allows the administrator (not us, the company) to prevent any updates. Since we JUST updated the work PCs to Windows 7, I seriously doubt we're see Windows 10 anytime soon even if it was available for the Surface.
We'll probably get the Surface 3 or whatever as a replacement before Windows 10.
Deviate from Deadhead at Rotation Start
Quick question...How do you sign in if you are deviating at the start of a rotation? I bid reserve this month and have a trip tomorrow that was scheduled to deadhead from ATL to LGA. I got approval from scheduling to deviate at the front end and booked positive space tickets direct to LGA from my hometown. Since they know I am deviating, do I have to sign in at all, or do I call them?
I'll call them and ask if you smart people don't know for sure, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks -

Your phone call was your sign in. Dont forget to still go to the computers to print out your rotation to get door codes.

My understanding is that whenever you are in civvies, you are always potentially subject to the whole security process. I don't even try to commute in civilian clothes. I generally wear a light jacket over my uniform, but am in uniform. At the end of a trip, for comfort, I might change into civvies, if I have time.
I don't know that you were punished. You were not in uniform, which can lead to the security process.

In these little airports there often isn't even an employee line anyway.
You are right about the uniform though. Funny thing is that they will say if in uniform rule doesn't apply, your ID is all you need. They claim that they don't know who is working and who isn't, but if in civvies your ID is no good.
So in a nutshell, ID is unimportant, uniform is important. Just be thankful that these smaller communities don't make up a bulk of our aviation facilities.
Never used my authorized personnel drop. Just wondering if you use it can you green slip over those dates later?

Republic's stock is down 50%+ today alone. Warnings about not being able to staff the airline already for next year.
There is already $20,000 bonuses for new hires and they still can't attract enough pilots. The wheels are falling off.
Let's all remember this during our TA redo. Regional flying will be returning to mainline and there is nothing we need to do to help them out.

Shares of regional airline Republic plunge on warning about pilot shortage, flight disruptions

Republic Airways warned that its operation of regional flights for the nation's biggest airlines could be disrupted by a pilot shortage and labor standoff. The company's shares fell by half.
Republic disclosed late Friday that it is talking with American Airlines, United, Delta and US Airways about reducing its flying for those airlines through the first half of next year.
In midday trading Monday, shares of Republic Airways Holdings Inc. fell $4.40, or 51.8 percent, to $4.10.
Republic expects continued disruptions of flights because of a pilot shortage that it blames on federal rules raising training requirements for new pilots and increasing crew-rest hours.
The company's negotiations with the Teamsters, which represents its pilots, are at standoff despite the use of a federal mediator. Republic said the Teamsters demands are unreasonable, making it impossible for the company to predict when it might settle the dispute.

The Teamsters did not immediately return a call for comment.
The Indianapolis carrier rescinded all of its previous financial forecasts and hired Seabury Group advisers as it considers its strategic options.
The company operates Republic Airlines and Shuttle America, which operate regional flights using smaller aircraft for American Eagle, United Express, Delta Connection and US Airways Express. The big airlines also hire other regionals for the same work, including company-owned subsidiaries at American.
Regional carriers operate about half the nation's domestic flights, linking many small and mid-sized airports with the hubs run by the big airlines.
Several regional carriers have complained about a pilot shortage since the Federal Aviation Administration raised training requirements for new hires. Pilot unions say the regional airlines could end the shortage by increasing pay, which starts at less than $25,000 at some carriers.
In recent months, Republic has offered pilots extra pay for flying on their days off and extended bonuses for new hires. The Teamsters sued this month, charging that the company's move to boost pay outside of the negotiations process violated federal law.
