Keep in mind most of those leaks are coming from people who are purporting concessions and go on to defend/justify the need for them.

The majority of those posters have only been on here a few days as well.

My question is WHY would any of our pilots attempt to defend or attack a TA that currently is nothing more than loose rumor or vague innuendo?

FWIW, I couldn't agree more with your other thread that these rumors do cost us money and gains.

I don't think there will be concessions in the TA, there is no reason for them. At the least it will be just some decent pay raises and hopefully some good work rule improvements.

I guarantee you that nobody's survey said get rid of OE provisions and allow more 76 seat premium rjs. C2012 was the last time that would happen.

But if it is lacking - no rush. If we don't get the pay bumps which as a few pointed out might not happen, we still should be looking at major profit sharing increases.

Anyway - I want to be able to vote yes. I voted yes on C-2012 because it met my minimums. Well with record profits and a recently announced $5 Billion stock buyback my minimums are a lot higher.

I will look at the deal as a whole and make a decision as I expect most will do.

That's OK. The way your post was worded it sounded like you were saying we had an advantage of TVM based on the potential of a me too raise.

Vote your conscience based on what's presented. I think that's all that's asked.

It's been posted before, but it is timely to share for the new folks here. And for the DC9 crowd that can't afford netflix, I'm posting a free link. If you are interested in mahogany row, the redistribution of wealth and the value our union is supposed to have, set aside 90 minutes and click below.

I'm not completely convinced of that.

With "constructive engagement" as Dalpa's prevalent strategy, I think it's a safe bet that Delta management has significant "contacts" at fairly high levels within Dalpa.

I'm of the opinion that management is completely aware of what the MEC majority has accepted, whether or not it's on a forum.

Hi, folks. Can you talk a little bit about how you’re going to afford that new pilot contract?

Hi, we're making a lot of money and so we can afford the substantial cost increase. The pilots fly the planes and so without them flying them, they go nowhere, they're invaluable, we love them, it was time to go above and beyond anything that's ever been done in this industry. I mean I have no problem paying a 717 copilot $175,000, and a Delta Captain $300,000, they're worth every penny.

Ed Bastian
And, if I may add, I stay awake at night thinking about how much this is going to cost us. But the pilot's union just didn't budge. They really got the best of us. They said that the contract surveys from the pilots were clear and they held to that.

Random Reporter - Bloomberg News
Sure. Okay. Thank you.

I'm hesitant to constructively engage here (see what I did?--do you? because its like the company 'Delta'...and the way the union 'DALPA' supposedly work together? Do you get it now?) Anyway, I was told the best jokes were the ones you have to explain a lot.

Nevertheless, I call your attention to the BOLD words above. The BOLD words above are where to I call your attention all! Timbo, brother...buddy! If you had a time machine all along you could have just said. There is all sorts of stuff we could do! Kill Hitler (duh!?), go see what all the fuss about the Helen of Troy chick was, get in on some of the VJ day action in New York (little hot grandmas at 21 time travel action!) and then we could go be pilots at Pan Am together in 1961. Leave all this muck and mire of the TA behind.

But on the off chance you don't have a time machine...WHY ARE YOU SCARED OF SOMETHING THAT HASN'T HAPPENED?

Unless you have a TA that I don't (and I don't have a TA....T&A, maybe...I'll check my browser history)...we don't know if there are concessions or huge paydays ahead. Live in the now my friend. Live. In. The. Now.

Let's debate the TA once we have one. Not disasterize (I made that word up, like it?) what we don't know yet.

But seriously if you do have a time machine I really really want to do some stuff.

We’ll take our next question from Dwain Worthless from Bloomberg News.

DWAIN- Bloomberg News
Hi, folks. Can you talk a little bit about how you’re going to afford that new pilot contract?

Richard Andarson
Hi, Dwain. We always could afford to pay the pilots what they are worth. We borrowed money from them in the last decade, slashed their pensions and increased their efficiency. They fly a lot more than they used to. It is time to restore their pay, enhance their work rules and better their retirement. I for one am very curious as why DALPA has never demanded restoration. Who am I to ask them if they want restoration?

Ed Bastien
And, if I may add, I sleep extremely well knowing my highly educated and professional pilots make less than long shore-men. It is time to restore their pay fully and make them whole. There is plenty of money in the coffers but one thing I really appreciate with DALPA is that they never come to the table asking for more! THey are truly a great partner with us! Kudos to MOAK for establishing such a friendly environment.

Dwain- Bloomberg News
Sure. Okay. Thank you. I also heard Firefighters and Police Officers have a great pensions too..

What I'm afraid of is history repeating itself, a repeat of C2012.

But we'll see if we have a T/A full of concessions by June 1, won't we?
