I personally don't like the hat. It's a comfort thing and it's one more item to deal with commuting/DHing. Pilot uniforms tend to defy logic, convention and modern style - what other professionals wear hats indoors and short sleeves with ties? On the plus side, the hat holds several layers of tinfoil well.
Nope, can't do it.

I've vented on this already to a kind soul, but as a PSA I want to share. If you're flying into HOU and have a fed on board be prepared for a strange one with the initials BN. If you've had a similar experience with BN I'd be interested in hearing your story. Can you really tell the pilots you've just jumpseated with "You guys passed." if you never had an ATP?

Since you brought it up...
Can one of you hat-deniers explain your hatred of the hat? I'm not sure I'll ever really understand, but I'm ready to listen. Is it a hair thing? Toupee interference? Heat? Power struggle? I'm embarrassed for you guys, but recognize you're probably embarrassed for me wearing mine.

But its asinine that we have to wear them while the FA's don't. Most if not all global foreign airlines, especially the dual subsidized ones trying to poach our industry out from under us while pretending its merit based because of their "service" all have FA hats. Parity baby. Make em wear hats, FTW. Then we're all in this together.

Hey folks,
Traveling to England later this month with family. Kids are older, the youngest 13. Any must sees or logistical suggestions?

Veteran Delta pilots, help a new guy out here, please.
Any of you use the UFlyMike headset? Is it approved for use? Thanks in advance.

Tower of London.
One of the bus tours in London allows you to get the lay of the city and pick specific sights to see more in depth.
Definitely check out the Tower. Also, the Museum of Natural History which is very close to the crew hotel (that one's free .)
