Flew with a CA who has been recording the DB level of the 73 cockpit on his flights. 73-75DB in the 800's. The 900's are considerably less noisy at around 67DB. It's pretty loud up there!

I'm always amazed how many people use the on board headsets. How about noise canceling headsets and hot mike capability in the next contract? It's ridiculous to jumpseat on SWA and they're having a nice quiet conversation on hot mike while we're up there with one ear cup off yelling at each other. We can sell it as a reduction in future health care costs.

We've started referring to them as '***k your buddy passes'.

LAX is tough. I've got to get me and the kids to SOCAL in the next couple of days. I don't bother checking the LAX loads. SNA or SAN are usually better.

After an unanticipated dip in the pond, I realize I'm ready for a new phone. I've never had a smart phone and will probably get an i-phone.

Any preferences between the 5, 6 or 6+ ?

Anybody recommend something other than apple?

Galaxy Mega 2. Big.

Once you get a smart phone you'll stop talking to people on the phone. So get the Mega. big screen, great for playing on the internet which is what phones are for.

LAX to Germany. I've looked at every option I can think of but basically ATL is the goal and LAX-ATL is the only promising thing but it's LAX-ATL. There's a lot of ways to do it and I think I studied them all.

Right now I think this will work but I watched LAX-ATL flights today to see the cascade and geeish. It stinks and it's probably relatively decent to what it normally is.

6+ way too big IMHO. Dunked my 6 in the creek once already...still works fine.
