Weren't we staffing neutral for last summers flying? A 7% increase would be about 800-900 extra pilots worth of flying wouldn't it?? I'm just sayin', combine that with training for half the seniority list, retirements starting in a couple years, flight/duty time changes...things that make you go hhmmmm.

As a frequent RJ commuter, we commute as S3 on everything now but ASA and Sky West. On those we're S3C.
S3B is for parents and retirees.

I almost hate to ask this question, because I'm not sure I want to hear the answer....... If we list for a non-rev seat on a a DCI carrier, what is our priority? Isn't something like a S-3B? Does this work only for Comair, ASA and Skywest? I'm really looking at all my options getting into JFK. Can we even get on any of the other carriers that Delta subcontracts with into JFK? e.i., Pinnacle, FreedomAir, Shuttle America, etc.
First time I had even heard of an S-3B was down at VPS, (Eglin AFB) when there were 9 pilots waiting to get on a 50 seat aircraft..... I just drove to ATL.

The short of it is S3C on EV and SW. S3 on everyone else.
ALL DCI go below us on mainline.

Anyone else been having problems with kamikaze ACS drivers on the ramp in between terminals in Atlanta? I pushed back from A19 and cleared the road, started engines, turned on the taxi light and was bringing the power up (767-300) when a total of about 10 vehicles going in both directions decided they had the right of way. I filed an ASAP. Don't know if it will do much good but this has got to stop!!!

If the DAL pilot hiring website is now accepting apps (though still not "reviewing" any)
AND
From the Compass Updates Thread on the regional side: 2 classes in Dec. and more in January
AND
Cpz pilots get the first 20 slots in DAL newhire classes (with the 20% rolling max limitation)
AND
S. Dickson talking about 7% higher block hours for summer 2010 than previously forecast
AND
No reduction of MSP 320 flying even with SLC/MSP 320-M90swap.
Any guess what Arnie Kraby & co. will be doing soon?

First, you assume that Arnie will be doing it. No decision has been made as we have no hiring dept for pilots!
As for the rest, your dots look like my dot connecting, and my dots have a few extra dots added in to come to a conclusion.
I like where your dots are leading. I agree that a 7% YOY increase in the summer is not staffing neutral and if we were to try and run this airline without any new pilots, we would be canceling flights due to no crews. There are only so many IA's a reserve pilot can do, there are only so many GS that a line holder can do. All I can say is bid the junior jet and make a ton of coin!
If I had to make a prediction, I see us taking on some added staffing this next year. Well, there I said it. I will not give a number as it might be too accurate!

Man I saw this pic this AM and could not stop laughing for 10 minutes. Heck I still laugh when I see it.
