PD only distrusts Alpa completely. With time, you may go that route too. Who knows.
I think in some way, he enjoys your questions too and is happy to share gouge. He makes me chuckle. I look at him as the guy waiting in the shower to rat tail you (thwap you with a towel) or that guy when you're walking down the hall who hits you in the shoulder...Harmless, but never out of the corner of your eye.

Understood (some of your reply, anyway). I get that GS is 2X pay and applicable for line holders only. No problem there. And, I also get that GS (for reserves) is paid at single pay, above the GS trigger, and no credit. What I fail to understand is, IF, as a reserve pilot, I am awarded a GS trip, but am below the G/S trigger (72:00 in MAR, and I am at "69:36 applicable to G/S trigger" per my time card), what is the said trip paid under those conditions. FWIW, I checked my time card before I wrote my first inquiry, and the "credit applicable to G/S pay" was reduced from 72:00 (at the begining of the month), to 69:36 sometime last week. My only activity was that skds added the bounces in the sim for my currency. If I don't get up to 72:00 Proj credit, will the gs trip pay out at single pay, at either above 69:36, or single pay above 72:00, or will it pay out AT ALL? I do intend to inquire with a pay analyst, but simply hoping to gain an understanding before I make the call. Again, Much thanks.
Greenslips flown on call days don't pay or payback, they are just a high yellow. Additionally, there is a codicil in the Faber college by laws that allows you to move an x day to the first day of a greenslip flown on call days...with scheduler approval. You have to ask for it.

I use the Irish lord in ninilchik ak for halibut and fish the Russian river for silver salmon on my own...you snag them in the mouth...you'll need to get a fishing license. The most important thing IMO is vehicle rental. Reserve your rental car early, I recommend a minivan to hold all your stuff. I pack my clothes in my cooler and mail them home. ANC has deep freezes in the airport in one of the 2 terminals.

I don't think a reserve GS will pay 2X if you are above guarantee. In any case I am not a good person to ask anything about guarantee - in 16 years of flying on and off again reserve I never once made it to the guarantee.
So at least I got that going for me - Oh yeah, and on my death bed I will receive total consciousness.

Anyone remember where/when it was written/changed about the NYC overnight hotels/layover times? It used to be greater than 12 hours and you were downtown.... it was changed to 15 hrs for NYC but can't find it anywhere... and the search function on the tables works so "well". Got into a "discussion" yesterday with crew tracking and crew accommodations. Crew accommodations refused to do anything until crew tracking changed our rotation to reflect our new layover time... after a 6 hour sit in Vegas waiting on ATC delays into JFK. Accommodations stated that we had to have a layover less than 13:30 to stay at the Airport, Crew tracking stated it was 12 hours. He went on to say that.... you guys wanted a contract, you negotiated one and it says 12 hours. Boom, end of discussion. Took every ounce of willpower I had not to go off on him. Instead my reply was...OK, I will not extend my duty day... if we go one minute over 14 hours we will do a gate return. It's in my contract. 
There are a number of hotel changes that will take effect January 1, 2014.
NYC - At JFK we are moving from the troubled Doubletree/Radisson to a brand new property, the Crowne Plaza. Those of you who have frequent short JFK layovers have seen this Crowne Plaza being renovated. It is located next door to the Radisson.
There are three other changes in NYC that will start concurrently with this move, including FAR 117.
First, the cutoff time between short and long layovers will be extended from the current 13:30 free of duty (FOD) to 15:00 FOD. That translates to 16:30 scheduled block to block for domestic flights.
This change was approved due to the long history of complaints from pilots on those layovers that were in that 13:31-15:00 range of FOD times and the long drive to and from Manhattan. The drive made the long layover in downtown a lot shorter.

I have a tax question for any informed readers:
I am sort of new to the ATL area, and when living in the Memphis area, I had always used a professional tax preparation professional. Last year, the pro i used i the PTC area made a mistake that nearly cost me several hundred dollars, but caught that mistake, and made it right before my tax report was sent off. The mistake was found due to a question i posed durning the preparation process. I am considering using Turbo Tax this year, and would like to get you guy's input. How confident you are using T/Tax wrt accuracy, and maximum tax efficiency? I live in the PTC area, and if you don't use T/Tax, who do you use to do your taxes. Many thanks.

Is there a one-source guide for all the acronyms on iCrew? Specifically what is "IOEC?" Pretty certain "NOE" means tripped dropped due to no OE. No guide on Deltanet that I could find.
I'm going to the sim this month for 7ER to 765. I had an 82-hour line next month (on the 765) and now it shows 65hrs with most of the month "NOE." Seems like a pay cut.

There is an acronym list under Flight Ops/Admin/New Hire Pilots on the left side of the screen, but it does not include NOE.

Thanks for all the input to my G/S award, and the pay issue. I did fly this on my days off (thus, it was a G/S trip), and did in fact receive the payback days. Just wasn't sure about pay issues, since my monthly projection went below 72:00, down to 69:36. I have no clue how my monthly projection decreased, mid month. My only activity from beginning of the month, until the time that my projection decreased, was the scheduling of the simulator bounces. Thanks again for all the help.
