When have I ever discussed my business acumen? By the way, there's only one "c" in acumen.

Yes, DPA should know that every word will be scrutinized by the ALPA apologists to distract from the point. DPA started the sentence out correctly by referencing ALPA's 2013 liabilities, but then used the word "debt" in the same sentence instead of staying with the word "liabilities."

Now with that said, ALPA's recently released 2013 tax records shows ALPA's total liabilities at $128,199,211 which is an increase of $51,341,113 compared to 2012. Total liabilities of $128,199,211 is a very large number for an organization with net assets of $16,008,469. Especially since the 2012 listing of net assets showed $29,282,106.

These are not the numbers of a healthy entity.

The chart, the chart says ALPA has $128 million in debt, which is a lie. It's simply a lie. How could any company operate with an annual debt that high?

See now here's the rub. I emailed my reps and I logged into my DPA member account today. I'll PM you my member number so you can check my IP against the login with your spies.

I went to the DPA articles on the 990s. It's an obscure report that doesn't make much sense to me. I did a search for the DPAs 990 and they don't have one because they are exempt due to not having "received" enough money. I then went to check that in the finance logs. Low and behold 2013 was never finished and 2014 stops in the first quarter and no one has bothered starting 2015. In short the same required from 990 is exempted and I can't trace why.

My reps sent me the link to the online version of ALPAs audit for 2012 and 2013 and the information was what I expected.

In 2013 ALPA took in $128 million in dues.........and you say they had $128 million in liabilities.......and you know why. ALPA is a non profit group. They aren't supposed to generate a profit and are supposed to use the money they take in for the business. What little money that isn't used has to be dealt with according to tax law. Some of this goes into the MCF and other accounts under actual rules available to members.

It also shows that the TWA suit cost us $26 million as the rest was covered by insurance as you also know and not the $50+ your boys claim is out there. ALPA Total Liabilites for 2013 $154 million and for 2012 $120 million.

You guys are using an obscure tax form (990) to confuse people and make sh!t up. The DPA chart says ALPA has $128 milxlion in* debt. It's a lie. Anyone that has done nonprofit work knows that you spend the money you take in. Flight Pay Loss alone for 2013 was over $30 million which should show you why the other numbers don't make sense either.

All members can log in and get the audit. You could try that on the DPA site except it doesnt exist along with the 990 and financial reports for 2013, 2014 and 2015. Transparency is one way I guess......anyway I'm going to take the audit from an actual company over Timmys interpretation of the mysterious 990.

Why is Moak still showing a monthlong "ALPA" drop on his line? Alpa clearly can't afford any more deadweight.

Terrible optics.

Looks like our net assets in 2007 were $99 million and $16 million in 2013. Is that part right?

Can someone help me with a question... if I give away a trip on the swap board (another pilot picks it up from me) does that increase my max pickup limit for the month, or does it not affect my max pickup? In other words would I be able to regain the value of that trip by WSing.
Thanks,
BV

Yes, if you swap it to another pilot or use a personal drop to remove it from your line, it increases your max pickup by that amount that you just swapped or dropped.

I sort of disagree with you. While the comment Richard made was inappropriate, I do think it was necessary to get this issue in front of the masses, including the Fox News crowd.

The general public doesn't understand and/or give a crap about open sky's agreements and airline politics, however most do have feelings (many of which are mildly racist) about the Middle East culture. If Richard and A4A can turn this into a pro USA thing, it may help us persuade our congress and president to support us and stop offering breaks to the ME3.
