I usually disagree with a lot of what PD says, but not this time. I love the flexibility of dropping trips that we have. Any min month provision in a future TA will be an automatic no vote from me.

So for newbies, after calling in sick, we call in well.

Then... What options do we have? Pick up parts of our trip if available? Pick up flying to replenish sick time? Or forget that and just go GS?

Curious on techniques and contract options as I continue to skim our PWA.

Thx.

If you call in well inside the footprint of the trip you called in sick for, you put in a WS and any amount of time you pick up will be put back into your sick bank. If you don't pick anything up, then you get paid the full amount of the trip and that amount comes out of the bank.

You can put in a GS, but I'm not sure how they would look at you calling in sick for a 5-day, calling in well on day 2, then snagging a 3 day GS. I think you can only WS on days that your original trip was on.

Go to Costco and get a case of Mobil Syn for 26.00, than take it to your dealer.

As purple said, you can put the trips on the swap board or personal drop them and go down to 0. If you were so inclined and had trips people wanted and coverage that allowed for drops.

Some airlines have a min, say 60 hours. You can't go below it. So you're at 75 with a 4-day worth 20 hours and you want to get rid of it or drop it, you can't. That's frustrating.

You can also drop trips and then pick up only WS trips with a lot of credit and little block time, or even GS or two for bonus, but it kind of requires living in base and some seniority but it can pay very well and sometimes a lot of guts.

LTD's system works well for him too. Or if you're a slum lord and make enough money on the side to take most of the month off, you can do that.

There's all sorts of ways to play it but the overriding thing is it's a great thing to have.

That's some good trolling. especially with those F16s as your avatar.

I'm gonna open up a CantFindJuno account.

Oh, and woo for that profit sharing check! Holy crap that is a lot of money. I've already made as much money this year as I did my last year as an RJ captain, haha.
