Shot call is assigned by the scheduler on duty that day. There is no set rule on how they do it.

Guess that there is a lot less domestic in the Er bid package as well.

Yes, but they have honored my preferences in the past. They make some effort to get you what you ask for.

I keep getting assigned the 0500 short call on my first day of reserve. Will they just keeping doing that to me until I request otherwise. Makes it impossible to commute same day.

Was in the lounge today when the vp of flight ops was giving his update. Sounded like the AE isn't going to have backfill. He said the main hold up is figuring out if CVG is going to have an ER base or just keep it the way it is. They don't want to displace anyone and with no backfill should thin things out to where they need to be naturally. At least that was the way I took it. Look for SIL's through the winter and into 2009. Hopefully they change their mind on the backfill. I'm hoping for a change of scenery.

Talked to Crew Resources the other day and they said they will backfill the ATL ER as well as the -400 and 777 but not the 767 domestic. We are too fat apparently. I did not ask about CVG.

Not back filling solves noting with CVG and they know that. It is the senior equipment in a base that is mainly local. The only way it shrinks is if people bid out to upgrade.

Does someone know how much a day of vacation is worth and how much 4 PB days dropped on a 4 day trip is worth? Is a PB day worth a set value, or worth whatever you drop it on? (I'm just too lazy to look it up right now)
